So the other night myself JeremyX and a few others decided to hang out and watch the game (Red Sox v Yankees ALCS). This was after the Dev interview btw, shortly after I arrived the beer supply ran out so we decided to go get more. (I had no beers at this point so a run was a must) Anyway, this is what happened:

We were about to take a left to go into a gas station, and some lady in a jeep owned us. Edit: the top car is mine, its my beater.

The baby is ok tho, not to fear.

Needless to say her jeep had almost NO damage, but my little beast was hosed. The door wont open window smashed

After all the exchanging of information, registration, name, phone number etc. We went in and got our beer.

The end.

lol I was scrolling through the pictures without reading the descriptions and I saw the truck, thought the lady was in the grand prix and you were in the truck. Didn't see any damage and was wondering wtfux was going on here, then I actually read stuff and saw the light.

Yeah... O_o

3 days after I got my new car some hippie chick rear ended me. It was only at about 5 or so mph so there was no damage besides a little bit of chipped paint (smaller than a dime in size)

Did you contact the police? I know lots of people don't like calling the police but believe me, when you are hosed out of $4k you'll start calling the police every damn time you get a scratch on your car.
As a sidenote, the two who tried to hose me are now in a federal prison.

No police, just dealing with the insurance company.

Alright
Have you gotten the damage appraised yet? (I've been in a lot of accidents, heh)
Never trust the insurance company. They always have their own pet mechanics that make them nice and low for them. Pay the money for your own appraisal, it's usually worth it.
What kind of car is it? (make, model, year?) and how much did you pay for it?

My insurance company is pretty good, I got into a bad accident a few years back and everything worked out great. So I am not to worried about the Insurance company focking me. I only paid 1000$ for it, just a piece of crap :p

Its a 91 grand prix, hasnt been appraised yet accident happened thursday and its the weekend now, nobody home :p

Wow, glad your okay. That sucks goat feces. I remember seeing an old old old old granny driving a beat up car. She had the most determined look on her face. We were stopped, she had her window rolled down and me as well, and i broke out laughing.

It's a decent car. If your agent is a good enough asshole you can get more than the car's value out of her insurance agency. Insurance agency's have tried to fuck me, but never my agent, he's awesome. He basically describes his job as a professional asshole. He gets to be an asshole for other people. If it weren't for the paperwork, it'd be the perfect job.

She was in her 50's and imo it was her fault, I was taking a left turn and she was trying to go around me on the left or something

Lets see....
front and rear fender damage...massive door damage and a shattered window... Windshield looks fine.
Alright, here's my estimate, let me know how close I am.
Front Fender Panel- $200
Rear Fender Panel-$300
Drivers Side Door $500-700 depending on damage
Drivers Side Window-$75
Total $1,100- $1,300
None of this is including labor.

Nimbus

Good luck with the junking. In most of the country junkyards now charge you to junk your cars. Thats why abandoned cars are becoming such a problem. Your best bet would be to find a hobbyist/demo derbiest to take it off your hands if you don't want to get it fixed.

Not broken, nothing wrong with them. Either way, insurance will pay for it. I know people who can get cheap repairs on it :p

Ah, brings a quesion to mind.

We got an old busted Mazda thats been through too many auto shops to live (it took its final blow 2-3 years ago bending the frame i think making it pretty much totalled). It's about 14 years old but hasn't been started since we somehow got it up the mountain even though the back right wheel was wobling like shit, 3-4 years ago. Should we grab all the good parts from it or just altogether scrap it? (again its been through almost everything that can happen on the road(including spinning out on the freeway and hitting multiple cars(I slept through all that chaos too O_o)

If you look at the pictures it appears the front and rear fender panels are damaged. When a mechanic is doing an estimate they are estimating the damage done, not how much it'll cost to fix it. If the panels are damaged at all, they find how much it would cost to replace them altogehter.
My old Buick Lesabre's damage was estimated at $3,300. It cost them $600 to repair it.
This is why you want to have the estimate done by your own mechanic. A lot of times the insurance company's mechanic will use the repair cost rather than the damage cost. This is how I was out almost 4 grand in my hit and run, $3,300 in damage plus $600 out of my own pocket.
