Marsman: Ok, very good, this one also from Nisloscen, "Will the flight model ever evolve to include more range of motion like the ability to perform barrel rolls and loops?"

Dallas: The answer to that is Yes, it probably will. That would likely be under the category of, as I mentioned before, an advanced reaver pilot or advanced pilot cert, where you would get access to that kind of maneuverability, um, mostly one of the reasons it's not there in the first place, is that kind of control is kind of difficult for the average player. It's mostly the people who play flight sims who get that, and so the way the flight vehicles work right now, it's deliberately simpler for those who are starting out, but if you find out that if you JUST want to be a reaver pilot or a pilot, then, yeah, we do want to allow that. That's also on the list for that beyond BR 20 beyond CR 5 list of things.

They made adv flight model in T2 and we could pick it up why do they think we are all such noobs

I assume you're all reffering to this.

What he is trying to say is that Tribes 2 had a more complicated flight model and people had no trouble picking it up. So why do the Devs think we're so dumb that they had to design a flight model fit for six year olds with brain damage. Ok so I may be exaggerrating his point of view a bit :p

I don't know that I agree totally, but then I was always told that a more complicated flight model would affect the way the game runs significantly. The above quote from the interview seems to say they did it simply to "make it easier to pick up". If that is truely the case I'd like to take this time to throw a :nono: at the devs. I can see where they're coming from but I've never been a fan of dumbing things down. IMO you should learn to fly and crash and burn few times or stay out of the sky.

Shooting shit while flying upside down was a favorite passtime in Tribes 2. I was really dissappointed when I found out Planetside's flight engine wouldn't let me do a barrel roll (well short of bouncing off a tree at the right angle) let alone fly upside down for any period of time or do loops. But then again judging by the above Dev intervire snippet they are thinkg about addding a more complex flight engine. If they do I'll love them forever. I'll finally be able to fly a Lib upside down while chewing people up with the 35mm :D

I'd spend doulbe the current cost to be able to force a squad to try and hotdrop from an inverted Galaxy

:hitit: Another bonus would be the phoenix not going all squirly at near 90 degree angles of flight. Also, my Gal would no longer have a blindspot, I could just invert so that the tailgunner can shoot the bastage.
