i know the adv. hacking is the uber hacking but what dose just hacking do, let you hack?

Regular only lets you hack vehicles with doors/ccs moveing alittle bit faster, it isn't very useful without advanced.

Normal Hacking cert: Can hack Cert terminals, implant terminals, lockers, medical terminals. Doors and CC hack faster

Adv. Hacking: Can hack any terminal, with the exception of the matrix terminals. CC and doors hack faster, as do all the normal hackable objects. Can jack vehicles, empire specific ones taking longer then common pool.

If you really want to hack and be satisfied with it you need to just go all the way to adv. hacking Otherwise you are wasting 3 certs.

Adv hacking hacks towers about as fast as someone with no hacking hacks a door.

Yep and I cant tell you how many times I have been killed the split second I complete my hacks. The time you save can make all the difference. I would say either commit 5 points for the ability to hack properly or spend the initial 3 points on something more usefull

If u hack a CC with normal it takes about a minute with Hacking it takes about 45 secs with Adv hackin it takes 30 secs.

They never should havce changed it. As it stands, and has been said many times, there is no reason to get just hacking right not unless you are going for adv. hacking.

For now, you can jack enemy vehicles with regular hacking, although it appears they will be removing that ability from normal hacking soon (I think with the balance pass).

I don't know the exact times, but I do know for a fact that adv hacking is exactly twice as fast as normal hacking (before I got adv hacking a while back, I started hacking a term at the same time as an adv hacker, he got done right when I hit the half-way mark, I have since forgotten hacking/adv hacking for med/adv med though...). I don't know about plain hacking vs no hacking though, maybe 25% faster.

not trying to be rude here, but this is wrong, and for some reason, so is the Certification descriptions ingame.

You can only hack Med Terminals and Cert Terminals with Normal Hacking. everything else requires Advanced. And ATM you CAN hack vehicles with Normal Hacking. But I remember reading somewhere that it is a bug and you are only supposed to be able to hack vehicles with Adv, and it will be corrected in the Balance Pass Patch.

I tried hacking an Equipment Terminal before I picked up ADV(I had Normal Hacking cert), it says "You are not Certified to hack this item".

Adv Hacking gives you the keys to everything, I can't see how anyone lives without it.

No hacking on CC=2 minutes my last count.
Basic hacking on CC=1 minute
Adv. Hacking on CC= 30 seconds

No Hacking lets you hack CCs and Doors.
Basic hack increases hack speed and lets you hack medical terminals, lockers, enemy vehicles(not after balance pass) and maybe cert terminals.
Adv hacking increases hack speed, and lets you hack equipment and vehicle terminals.

Adv hacking lets you hack the only terminals worth hacking, and will allow jacking of vehicles in the next patch. If you're gonna hack, go advanced.

Edit: Oh yeah, Noone can hack implant terminals unless something has changed recently. If you could, I would do it as a infiltrator to avoid detection(probably why they dont allow it)

You can hack vehicles with just regular 3 cert hacking. It just takes a fuck of a long time. Trust me.
