View Full Version : Some changes that I thought of... they don't seem too outrageous

- Remove the Decimator from special assault and move it into anti vehicle as common pool.

Reasoning: The Decimator is an anti-vehicle weapon. The way that special assault is designed (at least I think so) is that they're weapons which really can't be grouped into any other category. Also, they're very versatile. The Rocklet Rifle and the Thumper both fit these traits, they can be used in just about any situation. The Rocklet Rifle could be argued that it's more of AV than AI, but it is still powerful as AI. However, the Decmiator has but one purpose: anti-vehicle. Therefore, I believe it should be changed to an Anti Vehicle weapon that is common pool. The Special Assault certification would still be worth it with the Thumper and Rocklet Rifle.

- Make it so it's possible to loot vehicle trunks after they die.

Reasoning: With the addition of dropship center base benefits, people find more stuff in trunk space than ever before. However, an enemy cannot actually access it unless they can hack the vehicle. Therefore, I believe that, after you kill a vehicle, you should be able to loot it. Right now, the big vehicle corpses serve no purpose, except for maybe as cover fire. I think that you should be able to go up to the vehicle corpse, hit g, and be able to look inside the trunk. This would also help people who have an enemy vehicle that they hacked and want more ammo for it.

- Make it possible so that you can buy vehicles from a vehicle pad with saved trunk configurations, even without a linked Dropship Center.

Reasoning: With the new trunk configurations, trunks are more filled. However, it is still seldom used because you can only use it with a linked Dropship Center. In my opinion, you should always be able to buy them, even without a dropship center. You should only need a dropship center to actually refill them, without them, you would need to refill manually.

- Make the Prowler, MagRider, and Vanguard certs 4 points.

Reasoning: There are three main classifications of vehicles. Assault Buggy, Assault Tank, and Assault Aircraft. There are others, but I'll focus on these. In each of these "classes" there is a more and less powerful version. The less powerful version does not require a tech plant, is one less cert point, and is all around weaker. This is true in all cases except for the Assault Tank. I think that you should have to spend 4 points to get the all around best vehicle for your empire.

I don't think these changes are too ridiculous.

I like all your ideas (especially the one that you said about being able to configure your trunk without a dropship center and the one about looting vechilce corpses. I wouldn't mind if the decimator stayed in special assualt or changed to AV. The only one I don't like as much is the one about tanks being 4 certs. The tanks now are classified as medium assault tanks (probably so later on they can add heavier tanks or soemthing). It's also hard enough to sometimes get a tech plant, which also puts these tanks sometimes at a disadvantage. The other vechciles out there that are weaker are used for a different purpose, some have more manuverability, other's more speed. And since I'm a tank driver, I don't want to spend another cert for that. Good ideas though.

Decimator is not an AV weapon. It's a weapons that's great for killing MAXs (which aren't vehicles by the way) and killing bases. It's also decent for killing slow moving or stationary vehicles, but I don't think that was the Devs primary intent for it.

I think that you should have to spend 4 points to get the all around best vehicle for your empire

So I should spend 4 cert points on something I can't shoot and after the balance pass will not really even be able to run people over thus killing both my exp gained and number of kills compared to what the rate is at now?

I don't think so.

The reaver costs 4, because it's a one man craft capable of mass destruction. The Lightning is three because it's not capable of nearly that level of destruction. The tanks are three because in order to be effective you need a gunner. The reaver costs more cert points because you get more for your certs.

And I guess Harasser/Empire specific buggy is just not there, huh? I can understand what you're saying about the tanks, though. Also, the game itself states that the Decimator is an anti-vehicle weapon.

Assault buggys are supposed to be light tanks, they still cost the same amount as a tank (3) but they move alot faster and thats the tradeoff for the armor/damage capacity of a real tank :D

I actually like all of those propositions. With the balance patch, we'll see more beefed up armor (in addition with shields). I'd rather see more assault buggies out in the battlefield than zergs of tanks. Buggies still need those tech plants as well.

Yes, you can Bryan25, but that doesnt work with ground vehicles, which is what I am guessing that Chewy was thinking more about.

I agree that maybe you should be able to loot the remains but it should not be in full shape. E.g. the clip is cut in two because of damage, or a weapon get's damaged by random A.I.

However, I don't agree with changing over the decimator. As Happy lil' Elf stated, it is also used against maxes. In my opinion, they should make another Anti-vehicle weapon, or three (empire specific), to spice up the game.

Some more things I thought of:

- Make it so that if you are in the Sanctuary at any time, the shield generators on your vehicle will charge. Also, add the ground vehicle repair stations.

Reasoning: Do I REALLY need to explain this? This makes so much sense.

- Add the ability to rotate items in your inventory.

Reasoning: I have found several times where I really wished I could rotate items. Obviously, square items like ammo boxes wouldn't need to be rotated, but other things like rifles or medpacks would definately help if they could be rotated. Perhaps, if you are holding the item and putting it into your rucksack, you could simply hit secondary fire and it would rotate.
