Cool features that would make Planetside A LOT more entertaining and fun for all:
1. Ranking system in game
(Number of Kills, Kill Ratio, Kills over time, Experience Points, Ranking of alll players, etc.) I can't stress how important it is to have a beautiful multi-featured ranking system in game, not on a website. This would just make the game complete fun and addictive. People play first person shooters to be competitive most of the time.
2. Show a player's kills from the beginning of the game, whether your in an outfit or not. Your kills SHOULD NOT be erased after going up in battle rank everytime. What if I like getting Battle experience from just killing players instead of sitting at a base doing *&%*^% all.
3. Outfit points SHOULD NOT just be tracked in an outfit, but always.
4. The cone of fire formula should be more like Wolfenstein or Rainbow Six III.
No more bad accuracy due to mostly to programming. The game would be more skilled oriented with emphasis on a players reaction speed.
5. Better implants that do not use stamina at such a accelarated rate. Most of the implants in PS are useless or too weak. DL, Surge, Adv Target and Zoom were the only ones that were the most helpful. Surge is really only good for infiltraitors, AT for vehicle pilots and zoom for snipers.
Implants should give a real advantage over other players who do not have them. Or the higher the level you are the less stamina they use. OR ALL implants should be accessible after death immediately!
The Combat Boost implant should allow a player to kill anyone with 1 hit with the knife is secondary mode, 2 if its not in secondary mode.
Implant suggestions:
- Increased Stealth while running
- Increased Hacking ability, beyond Adv Hacking
- Increased Stamina cap, doubles your total stamina points
- Increased rate of fire for infantry 15-25%
- Increased accuracy, 15-25% decreased cone of fire percentage
- Increased Stamina regeneration
- X-ray/Infra vision, this would really useful
6. Fix the freaking CAMERA view to allow 360 degree rotation, so many times have I needed to see what was behind me in the air, in battle or while hacking a control console. Its not like soldier's in real life can't look over their shoulder!!!
7. No more holding the mouse button down when repairs vehicles or armour.
8. Less grief for weapons with high splash damage radius. The few game sessions where I used a Pounder/Burster MAX, or Pounder with any ammo type have I hit weapons lock it isn't even funny. The grief is just expontial!!! That is not just right.
Sony should look at system like Ultima Online's Aggression System.
If a person kills or is the CAUSE of death for too many friendlies the person then recieves grief. Also for excessive damage. Or just have no friendly fire for splash damage at all.
9. Players should recieve huge amounts of grief for kicking other players out of vehicles over water. But no grief if a player ejects themselves.
10. Air vehicles should continue on the axis they were flying toward when you eject. So many times has my mosquito or reaver veered off in another direction when I'm trying to kamikaze something. It is such a great feeling when your reaver smashes into an enemy vehicle destroying it. :)
11. The sniper rifle should be one shot kill with the crappy motion reticule accuracy time they got for it now. Either quicker accuracy time with a little less damage and no bolt action OR lower accuracy ONE SHOT KILLS. If you have ever played a good sniper game like Wolfenstein or Rogue Spear, you know what I'm talking about. The reload time is also a little to long for bolt action. You think with some much technology they could make it with a quicker reload. I doubt it would change game play for the worse.
