After the long test period on Public Test, I wonder if the Balance Pass won't require a hotfix like so many other patches on PS and other games. I don't play on Test though, so I'll leave the answers pretty general.

Well I guess this is what happens when you abort a poll. It still works as a topic of discussion though I guess.

I can't remember a bug-free patch on any of the MMO games I've played, so if this goes smoothly, it'll be a first for me at any rate.

There are plenty of bug free patchs. It's just that they're patches to correct the bugs the last patch caused

The devs seem pretty reluctant to push this patch out until it is perfect. I think this is a good thing, I'd much rather wait for it to be bug free, then spend all day CTD'ing or getting stuck in a spawn tube (again).

The problem is there is a lot of things that are different in a live server than a test server. This may be better than a "tested for a day then released" patch or it may not. The vanu max's may be severaly over powered now.....not sure cause 90% of the vanu on the test server were using them...when you have a field of nothing but 60-80 maxes...they seem a bit overpowered ;)....so hard to tell.

I'm sure they want a smooth patch right before asking us to cough up $30 for a new expansion.

phfff.

They are finnally balanced. The vanu maxes are worth using now, i am overjoyed to see 3-4 maxes in the same place.

:)

The VS is finnally an empire worth playing.

I dunno, the Vanu MAXs could be a bit beefy after the patch. I am very glad they got some luvins but the Comet is a bit too beefy IMO.

There are always bugs with such sweeping changes.

If they've taken out hte vanu ground like it sounds in the forums, it could be an interesting twist, or solution, to make then strong anti air now and keep htem weak anti ground.

I think the Comet could use a (very) slight nerf on the test server, but other than that, Vanu MAXes seem to work the way MAXes are supposed to now. And I'm NC at that.

The Comet buff was a must have. I play Vanu and we have no AV period right now. The lancer is good but it takes forever to kill any heavily armored unit. The TR have the Striker which is good AV and the NC have the phoenix which is also good AV. When I play I absolutely hate playing the NC outdoors. I love fighting the NC indoors as it is always a good fight and a hard fought battle. When it comes to outdoors though, your vehicles just obliterate us in ways I couldn't imagine. With the lack of AV, we get hammered by 17 vangaurds. Our only defence is the Mag but it seems lately that all the vehicle pads are bugged when we need them the most. (i.e. last night 10/14 at Voltan on Hossin). The Comet will give the Vanu much needed AV support.

...I don't play on Test though...

That is part of where the bugs come from. Most people ask and ask for fixes and then never test the fixes and end up complaining when it is released.

I think you have the wrong guy, Gryphon. I didn't ask for fixes and I didn't complain.

Don't think I said you.

Part of people not testing is the fact that there is always such short notice for playtests :(

Yes, almost definetly, yes. Any patch that covers that broad a subject will have bugs. At least thats what i think. ;)
