Seriously though, it's not like the Striker was ever that great. Decimator owns it in all applications save AA, and afterburners outrun Striker missiles.

Special Assault is next in line for a bop from the nerf stick, perhaps. Look at how much you get for 3 creds. It's kinda weird.

The mighty Prowler has a max speed of 49kph now, and it takes about 10 seconds to reach that speed. With buffs like these, who needs nerfs.

Actualy a skeeter functions closer to an F-16 the reaver functions much like an A-10 still does actualy it's just not ungodly powerfull anymore. Mossy is actualy getting an improvement due to it's gun buff.

well, the reaver is getting a nerf too, anyways, the slowing down of tanks is a nerf, so that a person can get out of the way of mowers *cough*Magrider*cough*

I still don't understand why the F people are bitching "nerf" when they have no idea how it is affected by all the others changes. Remember, its not just your empire being tweaked its every damn empire.

Start yelling nerf after a good weekend of game time on the new balance pass.

As long as my pheo can go farther than 100m again, i dont care. Im sure they were stealth nerfing it with every patch... my range got smaller and smaller and smaller... but its up to 350, they say? Good. And does the dumbfire actually have a use? Ive not used test server.

Removing the jump block from the Vanu MAXs was essentially an indicator that they don't realize that jumping in this game is borked. When you jump/boost/whatever, people around you see you disappear/jump around the screen. This goes for people with 56k or with high-speed DSL. I understand that jumping gives players a sense of realism (or makes the game feel more Doom-like) but until they can make it so (especially on stairs) you don't jump around/teleport around, I think they should keep it to a minimum.

Also, the amount of stamina it costs to jump should definitely be adjusted depending on your armor. Five points for an infiltrator, seven for Standard Armor, nine for Agile and 11 for Reinforced. I doubt many people would consider that so far from the way it is now to be unjustifable.

Just my opinion. TR is still a great empire, but they sure did dress up a major set of nerfs as 'balance'. Propaganda, I guess.

Ok.. heres whats happening with this stupid balance pass.

i started downloading it about 7 am eastern time and it said it would be done about 11:14 well i ame back to my computer because it was 11:13 and it said this " remain 230:30:00 est finish time: 8:47:52 AM!!!!!

can anyone please help me out this is really annoying !!!!

I have 56k just to let ya know.

no but did anyone else have this huge download after the patch was almost done cause the bottom bar is all the way against the other end its just that little tiny bar .

The only buff they gave the reaver is that its missles go faster. Like that will help. I cant have my reaver 96 rockets now, so I went back to my first love, the sketter.

Unfortunatly your stuck, 56k is evil. At least you did it during the day and not during a peak hour. Then it would be even slower (if thats possible hehe)

If you have 56k, downloading the patch is going to blow goats. My suggestion? Go find something else to do for a day or so :(

well the striker is no longer useful I'm dropping it tonight. I'll keep my shorter range and smaller clip just give me back my damn 3 shot max kill instead of this 5 shot bullshit.

I hope the precieved Vanu love will make more people want to play the vanu.

It is kinda embarassing to constantly see the vanu symbol under the "empire needed" column on every server. I like having 2-6% exp and HP bonuses... but it's better to have an equal number of people on your side.

Has anyone noticed that how fast the MCG now kills infantry? it is so much easier and I don't even notice the new like refire spin thing or whatever.

The Jack is better than the new MCG but it is debatable wheather lasher is or not. I think in an open field the MCG is better off but in a Base the Lasher wins. At least the CoF is tight enough that the 100ammo clip actually means something now and crouching is effective. Since you dont have to pulse it in close combat now it actually has a reasonable TTK

Except for making some adjustments to my gameplay .. I've had no major problems with the Balance Pass so far. My prowler is rockin' when I have a good crew .. even more so than before. Like the *mower* nerf, though I can't help the poor souls who happen to be in my way of getting away from a Vanguard. ;)

Not real thrilled with the handling modifications on the Deliverer .. guess I'll have to get used to that .. BUT, I can enjoy the Burster Max again. :D

Man o' man if AV was impotant before it's even worse now. Least strikers got a bit of an adjustment although thanks to the bigger clip it really doesnt matter. I for one am a little disgusted in the phoenix dumbifre mode, dont get me wrong i like it, evne though i hardly ever use it (if you only got one shot you might as well make it count as you still arnt going to get away from a locked down pounder.) I just keep wondering, why didnt this come months ago. I am continualy frustrated by the fact that the TR get far and away the most powerfull max unit. Any other empire a MAX is an empidement but not really for a couple guys with decis, thanks to the devs a tr pounder can literaly kill you before you get that first shot of, granted with audio amp they've always been able to do this somewhat but now it's just disturbing. The deliverer is considerably less usefull now because of the poor handling. OVerall I like the balance pass I just which they come up with a way to give AV more teeth without unbalancing them against max's maybe giving all AV weapons additional damage against actual vehicles.

A smaller gripe is how screwed NC are in the fact that the developers continualy insist that we have a one round clip. THis stinks for two reasons, a given NC soldier has the least amount of shots of any empire AV soldier in the field.. I dont want so much a bigger as some kinda bolt action or external load of ammo on the phoenix, like a ammo web on a shotty. So heres the usual situation tr is camping the spawn since they are tr all it really requires is one locked down pounder max, you actualy manage to get out the spawn room into the room adjoining, now your problem is you've got an AV cert so yuu grab that phoenix out of your locker, you have one shot better make it count tiger, if you miss your did, if your hit and he's not already severly damaged your dead anyway. If you actualy had extra ammo in your locker you might have been shot in the back while working it. If you did get that ammo your issue is you now have to reload while a pounder max (or any other max for that matter) brings to bear on you. Great fun times.

You still have 96 rockets, it's just that you have 18 shots to finish them before reloading instead of 24. And less face it folks, if it was taking you 24 rockets to kill anything other than AMSes or moving Vanguards then you should really consider a career as a medic.

My general impressions of the balance pass are quite good-- the amount of armor on the battlefield now is truly awe inspiring, the way it should have always been. Anti-vehicle has always been a pretty lame cert, and they've just widened the gap between vehicles and infantry which is great IMO, because it's realistic.

My vanu infiltrator is loving the new beamer, although driving his AMS is as painful as making an ANT run. I have yet to try the MCG, but after reading these posts I think I am going to find a way to recert in it and see how it performs. Also, the platoons ROCK!!! While I haven't been in any fully 30 man deals, they help outfits rack up the XP much more efficiently (3-5 man squads still carry the day as far as XP whoring) and it's nice being able to split off an air squad from the main force and have them go cap towers etc.

Kudos to the devs on a job well done.

Keep deluding yourself man, they are still the only max in the game that can single handedly hold a doorway for extended period of time, they are are the only max in the game that causes entire squads and platoons of the enemy to have to think about finding a way to get behind them.

Doppler's right .. this morning on Hossin we had a DC and Pounder Max with 2/3 engis protecting the back entrance for almost 45 minutes before the NC were able to take us down and overrun the base. It took a lot of team work, but it was a blast!

Jagd is completely correct. The new Reaver is nowhere hardly inferior. If anything, 8 less rockets in a clip just means you afterburn out of a mess sooner.Also, the added momentum the rockets get while you're moving just makes them faster, improving accuracy.

I do seem to like most of the Balance Pass. I play all three empires now. I like the Maxes for TR. Oh Johari I sat lockd down at the gate entrance to a base. There were a few other TR there with me. They ran out the gate to meet the NC. Will they were dropped by the mass of NC scatters and infantry. I stayed locked down with the Dual Cylcer, laying massive cover fire out the gate. I did drop to many peeps while they ran past the ourside of the gate. I did weaken them but they still didn't come in my damn gate. I finally dropped after a few Deci hits, but of well.

The VS got a nice buff. I was on Konried Cyssor S Gunuku tower. This was before the total repetative server crashes. I was in the CC of the tower with two scatters. They were fully healed and repairs. I'm lvl 1 eng med and hack. So one VS max and two infantry rush up the stairs. They start firing and blam I'm dead and the two maxes are dead before I could even pull out my bank to fix one of the maxes. It was a total loss. I think the server was getting unstable then, cause I was shot a one shot kill at full health through the wall of the tower just before that happened with the maxes, another med revived me.

Now for the other part, I hate the new things with the vehicles. The new speed thing when you run over peeps. Well I have to say it's nice if you are infantry running around to be able to get out of the way. I'm a NC vanny driver hear. Was doing good with the van when I had a gunner, I love the vehicles then, but all my buddies were pinned down so I was driving a dead vanny. Anyways You use to be able to run down peeps pretty well. I hit one infantry man last night and went from like 35 kph to 0. Dead stop. The VS Mag can still mow. It slows down but not like that. Okay I know this is a game, but okay lets be logical. A modern day tank can roll through a wall and hardly slow up. I mean anyone ever watched the cops or the real TV where the guys in Cali steals that tank. That was a vietnam era tank, I believe. He ran for hours and through all kinds of things. I didn't see him slow up. Not until his tracks were both off the ground did he stop. See what I'm saying here. This is a tank we are talking about. A tank should be able to drop a tree and hardly slow up. Oh well I'm through ranting for now. I do love the new del on water. If you haven't checked it out do so. Man 44 kph on the water now. That baby is sweet.
