I'm still a skeptic, I have trolled through the forums and something just doesn't smell right.

I hope they prove me wrong though, it will be a very cool system.

An actual operating box. Not bad.

Still skeptical too - the guy who runs the operation has a history of bad business leadership. He might have finally hit gold, but we'll see...

Could be. Those last two shots are from the movie, and with the setup we see we'd see the screen projected.

The little devil head thingie logo sucks so much for a consoles logo...

Ghryphen

No, other consoles made it to e3 and other live showings and made good press and were from reputable companies. It isn't impossible for a startup to create of this caliber, but the speculation by many and the huge amount of pure computer generated images makes it quite hard to believe. The image above is no different than any other custom computer case.

Don't take my skepticism as saying this project sucks, because it doesn't. If it is real it will be a nice console and I would probably consider getting one. But until it starts to get some people reviewing the live console, it has been hard to believe so far.

DramaticFanatic

What does it do? Why is it so good? WHY is it running *windows*?

MrVicchio
2003-10-18, 09:09 AM
Baiscally, its a console without a CD-RoM, you do eveything via the net, you preview, and rent games, online. It comes iwth a controller keyboard and mouse, and since it runs windows, PC games should be available with no "porting" required.

MrVicchio
2003-10-18, 09:48 AM
If you notice, you can upgrade the RAM

Ait'al
2003-10-18, 09:50 AM
but how much?

MrVicchio
2003-10-18, 09:53 AM
Its carrying an intel Motherboard, top of the line class, so I would imagine atleast a Gig or 2.

No game for the next 2 years will need more then 2 Gigs. Period.

i thought the 5600 was old and only like 32 megs or something?

well in terms of new vid cards that one blows major ass... and since this is basically a tin comp I'll just stick with the one i got for the PC games and if I really need a console fix I'll play with one that developers will actually make games for.

pfft, if you buy that thing for 300 bucks, id rip it apart and take out the parts i want

but, lets say you buy the system, how long are you required to pay the monthly fee? and if you dont pay it, will you be required to give the system back?

Robot

TheAngelOfWar

looks a hell of a lot like a computer to me. i already own one, and pay no monthly fee.

and judging from how the system works, someone will hack a way to access the programs from a regular computer anyways.
