MCG rules. Yeah. It does. I'm tired of all these people saying that the COF if too bad now, blah blah blah, etc. Seriously, it's fine. After the BP I have been sidestrafing while shooting, and still have easily taken down a lot. And up close, it's deadly.

Seriously, stop complaining about it.

It chews through ammo, has small ammo boxes, no indirect fire capability and will never be a match for the Lasher and Jackhammer.

Other than that, totally agree.

Not this again... let's not say one weapon is better or worse then the others or will never be a match to others. All three have there uses and advantages. And if you don't already try playing as a vanu or nc for awhile before you say anything. You get to see every empires perspective on issues. Each weapon also has it's downside, like the lasher taking around a full clip to kill someone with lash damage from misses with the orbs. Jackhammer isn't as useful at range. And the MCG has it's issues too. Finally, a good MCG user can take down a lasher or jackhammer.

MCG rules, when you're hardly moving and crouched. If you strafe too much, the CoF blooms too much.

WHY do people start threads like this? All that happens is people bitch about what you say not to bitch about.

I'm willing to bet the Cycler is still superior, especially considering it frees up four credits to be spent on AMS, Combat Engineering, etc. TR is known as the tactical empire because it has fewer personnel trained in Heavy Assault, making it more likely that we'll have an AMS and minefields deployed. People said the MCG was a match for Jackhammer back before the last two rounds of buffs, so it's been proven that people don't understand Heavy Assault balance issues.

The main questions are a) is it better than Cycler? b) is it worth a four credit investment? c) does its lack of ammo conservation constitute a fatal flaw in the weapon system?

Perhaps something as simple as 100 bullets per ammo box would solve the whole problem. I personally really don't care because I can't justify the credits when AMS and Combat Engineering are so good.

If I could get Lasher and Jackhammer from hacked equipment terminals, though, I'd certify Heavy Assault in a heartbeat.

These things are inevitable.

The post was presented as a statement of fact, which naturally draws conjecture.

will never be a match for the Lasher and Jackhammer. I see, no matter how good the MCG is, you will still whine about it. I believe this is where I say: SHUT THE FUCK UP

I'd be trying to justify my empire's broken HA too if I thought my skill might be nothing more than abuse of a broken asset. I'm sure the people that got on the leaderboard milking Surge + JH don't want to feel like they were facing inadequately armed opponents.

You can top of a mug of STFU, friend. Your kind was bitching about MCG being fair two buffs ago.

I agree the MCG is a good weapon, but I haven't seen anyone saying it isn't.

I guess time will tell how good it is. However I do think that HA is the closest to being balanced it has ever been. Perhaps the beta MCG should be brought back?

You got lucky man. Even though I've been playing TR for months, it has somehow escaped my attention exactly what the legendary MCG is. My new theory is that it's some sort of hemorrhoid cream, but by god I will find out!
