My char has just reached BR 6. So I get one implant now. I mostly raid bases from the front door guns a blazing. Headed for the CC. I was thinking personal sheild may help. What implant do you think would be most useful to me?

In my experience shield isnt that great. I would go for darklight or surge myself :D

I like personal shield but it's not a good first implant. Either darklight or audio amp first especially since you like ground base assaults.

As a grunt, I would go with surge as long as you aren't wearing Reinforced armor. Darklight is nice, but you can usually spot cloakers anyway if you are aware. I used to swear by Darklight as a first implant, but you can't beat surge for sheer usefulness. In standard or agile armor it will help you get in and out of trouble as fast as you want.

Don't waste your time on personal shield. You need to learn how not to get hit first. :)

I didnt like personal shield and I heard second wind isnt that great either. In my experience, surge is really useful, especially if you have reinforced armor.

depends.

If you play on markov, johari, konried, or werner go with darklight.

If you play on emerald and are not TR, please go with something else. :)

personal shield or second wind

2 worst implants ever. second wind is a medkit that doesnt work. personal shield is an extra 10 armor that you have to turn on manaully and makes you tired.

Personally I went with advanced targetting first. It lets you pick the weak targets so you can finish them off and work on getting more kills. If that doesn't interest you, then audio amp is awesome cause it lets you see bad guys on your radar before you can see each other, usually giving you a chance to land the first few shots and win the firefight. As most of these people seem to agree, surge is also an excellent choice, and I'm using it to great effect as my first implant on my infiltrator character.

Melee booster is fun. People just don't expect a grunt to run up and knife em in the face.

yea melee is really fun to use but not a good first implant. u shuold just try all of them out as u can switch them anytime.

You cannot go wrong with surge, audio amp is another good choice allows you to bushwhack enemies around corners.

Trust me when I say Surge is by far the cheapest, most broken piece-of-crap implant in the game, and yes I use it every day.

Surge is plobably the moste useful implant overall, especialy if you have good reflexes, but I would not advise it as a first implant. My preference on first implants is either audio AMP or DLV.

If you're just runing in, guns blazeing, I'd sugest audio amp so you know whats comeing and where you're next target is going to be.

I tried out some of the implants last night. I found that I like Surge the best for my play style. Advanced targeting didn't seem to work that well. The shield sucks, JMHO. I can apply a medkit myself so no sense in losing stamina for that. The audio was cool. That one got me a couple of extra kills. See them coming around corner toss grenade and open fire with Jacker, one more dead soldier LOL. I have not had a need for darklight yet only been killed a couple of times by an inv guy. Not enough for me to worry about it yet.

Thanks for all of your input.

Wait till you can get 2 implants, and then get your breasts done.

DL is useful in case cloakers are about. I like Audio as well because it gives you some radar no matter what the situation is or where you are, useful for tower hacks.

Personal Shield was my first implant, but it sucked so I changed to Surge, handy in all situations, especially when rushing a CC.

Hah, I love that one that rejuvinates you, what ever its called. I can't stress how helpfull it is. This implant is great unless your a medic.

Ah, alright. Get Dark Light. That was my first implant. Adv. Reg was my second, and Adv Targeting was my last.

At first I always went with Adv. Regen. But don't expect it you keep you from getting killed. It is handy if you get popped by a sniper. Find some cover, crouch and regen. Also, as a cloaker its nice because you don't have room for medkits or any armor to keep the heat off of you.

Next, Darklight is awesome. Especially for defensive players. Nothing like dropping a few sweeper rounds in some cocky cloaker that thinks he's Predator.

Surge is nice too, but if you are infact a kick open the door and go in blazing player odds are you are wearing re-enforced armor. Surge will last about as long as it takes to die with no stamina.
