Melee Ala halo

Obby was talkin in IRC and suggested PS should have Halo style melee on all the weapons. Each weapon does diff damage depending on size. ex a phnx would be like a mace if it connects. A gauss would do alot less. A beamer is like boping uber 1337 power ranger megaultamodragonanimalzord on the head with a tooth pick.

I rather use my knife to kill ppl with melee :twisted: u would be suprised how many ppl jus stare at u when u run at them with a friggin knife.

The problem with this system is the jackhammer will again pwn all. Reloads too slow? No problem! Just swing it over your head like an ape with a lasso.

I changed my Halo:PC's melee to rightclick+ grenade to 5th mouse button.

With left:fire, right:secondary, and 3-5 implants, I still need a 6-button mouse for my medkits, and i don't think there is such a thing as a 7-button mouse. :p

Though who says you need different damages, one gun geing just a equally (un)deadly would do just fine. IMO, rifle-butt melee should do a lot less damage than a knife/actually shooting.

Pistol-whiping would have to do damage in a style similar to Bursters and reaver rockets, in that it must strip the armor before doing health damage. This way, it would still be only a backup attack or take someone out without makeing to much noise. Another option is that it only takes endurance from the person. want to prevent Darklight? Whak him in the head with an ACE(the thing even looks like a club).

Beamer should do the most melee damage of the pistoles, it's serated after all(and it might make up for it's over-all suckyness, this comeing from an NC infil).

I would love to be able to whak a guy in the head with my REK or MED app. Come to think of it, haveing it do only endurance damage would make the MED app useable to be able to get people to stop without acumulateing grief.

Pistol whipping an unarmored skull almost always causes unconsciousness and often causes death or brain-damage. Being hit in the head with a rifle stock is a ticket to reconstructive surgery or the morgue. Even with armor, that kind of blunt trauma to the neck could easily lead to paralysis. In this case, like on tv, realism doesn't help to foster the atmosphere they're trying to create.

What if the weapon mele worked like the flash bangs in Red Faction 2?

When hit with one, your vision would become blurry, your ears would ring, and the x and y-axis on your mouse would be reversed. The affect would only last a couple of seconds.

I think that would be sweet if you are caught in a reload to butt-check someone with the sweeper to buy some time. They could still kill you, but it would be much harder with their mouse all messed up.

hehe, what if you could hit people upside the head with ammo crates? or chuck weopons at them? loose a gun on accident? throw your ammo at em! all outta gauss ammo? spiral that rifle accross the room at that MAX's head! I think the idea Gerbil came up with would be best, like the flash bang bombs. Can you imagin the pain in the ass it would become if a claoker just came in and did this, one at a time, to all the ppl in a cc? or maybe 'stun grenades' with the same effect?

Yeah, but, as it is Knife fighting is a joke. I mean, come on, one swing per full second? I can swing a knife faster than that. I can even Jab faster than 1 per full second. Of course, PS can't change that, then people would be dropping like flies before they know they are being knifed.

in halo u do damage if u melee, u do 50% more if ur running, and 150% more if u jump at the person as u swing

Best pistol whip in Halo ever is undeniably the Plasma Pistol. Switches gun to left hand under barrel and smashes enemy's face in with right fist. Haha, classic.

But yeah, Melee would be cool if it fucked with your vision.

me and my freinds we were doing hacked halo, and we set our x-boxes to have all fire buttons activate the melee attack, so were having a 8v8 team assault with all guys that could only melee, and the objective was to take ur flag to the enemies base, but the guy holding the flag attacks slowly, so wenever he would attack, we would set it to do the damage of being shot by 12 tanks, so if he hit u, u would instanly die and fly across the map, SWEET!
