Just wondering what's going to happen when a MAJOR battle happens which sucks in most of the server population. Think it won't happen?
I used to play a game called 10Six. Whenever a battle happened Bob message Jim who would message Alan who would message his clan whose members would message .... 10Six dealt with the issue by capping how many people could particpate in a battle at 32.

How are the devs planning to deal with the horrendous lag that is usually the norm with pitched battles involving more that 40+ people?

OUCH!!!!!!

I haven't played 10Six, and I know very little about it...but if 32 players was their maximum, then they needed some serious work on their netcode.
Tribes 2 has been out...what...about two years once March rolls around? And T2 could support 64 players easily, and I've played in a 128-person battle in that game.

We can do better than that right now with PlanetSide. If other folks can't do *at least* that well...then maybe they should consider working in a non-multiplayer environment.

Perhaps that's harsh...but...well...y'know. I mean...c'mon...32 players max?

128 lol yeah right

at uva3 we tried to fill up a t2 server (remember this is a LAN) and after we got over 50 people on the server the pings were in the multiples of hundreds. 64 easily
