On our side, the FPS is an issue that we will look into as well. I always recommend doing everything you can to optimize the system on your end, but there are enough people talking about it to warrant some investigation in the code as well.

Wow their doing some more code work, if i can run Ut2k3 at 60 FPS why cant i run planetside at a constant 40? Now i probably do know why cause its the engine's rendering code or rendering all those modles during a zerg. Anyway thanks devs for an answer to my prayers. Unless its another FPS improvement that doesnt do shit for me and the next guy gets 10+ fps. :furious:

Care to let me in on your language? I'm not fluent. :p Am I the only one who has major slowdown problems when there's base firefights?

thats just alot of mumbo jumbo that the techys will understand about alot of players being on screen that slows down FPS. And the dev team is going to look into what they can do to fix FPS

Ah, good. Because I spent around 250$ on a video card to play Morrowind and I don't want to have to buy a new one for Planetside. :p And the people at CompUsa might as well be Mcdonalds employees, for all they know about it. *Sigh* If only every store could have employees like the guys at REI.
I haven't really had a problem with FPS but I guess a lot of people have.

Lucky you. I get FPS problems on Searhus, Ceryshen, Amerish, Cyssor, Solsar, Ishundar, Oshur, Forseral, Hossin, Esamir, and the Sanctuary.

Hmmm, PS has always required a beast to run really well(My older Radeon 8500 needed to be on minimum settings for half decent FPS in big fights, like 15). I remember Hamma mentioning he had noticeable frame rapage with his Geforce 4 Ti, so it shows that even then(the Ti being the 2nd best card available at the time) and then got a 9700pro. Shows what PS requires, and that it's not without reason. There's so much being rendered at times it's to be expected

Yes but their are better ways for how the engine renders all those models on screen at one time. Thats what their looking into
