Probably :ofn2: for quite a few but if you haven't seen this movie, go see it. I just got around to doing to on Friday and it was well worth every penny. It's actually rather amazing what a director can do when he takes a stand and refuses to bitcher his movie even it does require that it be split into two parts.

The best way I can describe it is a great anime movie but with real people and the most important part: Done extremely well. Fair warning though, if massive amounts of blood make you sick (probably not since you're on a FPS fansite but you never know) stay far away from this film. This movie has the most dismemberments of any movie I've ever seen. Hell in one scene alone there's got to be over 50 of them

Can't wait for part two :)

That was a very nice movie. The blood was almost silly, monty python like in quantity and pressure at which it leaves. They actually used fire extinguishers to shoot the blood.
It was kinda creepy though. At the begining of the movie, someone gets shot in the head and if you look around, you will see everyone cringe. Now wait till your pretty close to the end of the movie, wait for a dismemberment part (you won't be waiting long) and look around, most likely, the audience will be smileying, if not laughing. Reminds me of george orwells 1984, where the movies are horriblyu violent but everyone just kinda laughs at them...

I heard it was just pure carnage and violence with no story at all behind it..

I still might see it though.

Its funny, she kills takes on like 100 guys with swords and she wins, all the guys are left squirting blood out of limbs on the ground.

If you liked Kill Bill, go find some Sonny Chiba movies.

The part where she pulls out that guys eyeball? Sonny Chiba did it. That part where she was fighting in the blue room upstairs when the lights were turned out? Chiba. The progression of the movie, which got bloodier and bloodier as the movie went on? That's Chiba's movie timeline: it got gorier with every one.

The movie was good because it paid excellent tribute to many old school Hong Kong flicks.

You definitely have to check out Sonny Chiba's stuff if you liked Kill Bill. After you have, you will appreciate Kill Bill a lot more, too.

"I can say with no ego, that this sword is the finest I have ever made. Should God stand before you, he would surely be cut." I LOVE THAT MOVIE LINE! YEAH!

There's definately plot, just not two and a half hours of it. Think Ninja Scroll but longer and with better writing.

It doesn't really involve anime. There is one scene about the background of one of the assasins that's done in an anime sort of animation style but thats maybe a 5 minute or so scene. The feel of is overall though is sort of anime. There are slow scenes mixed in with very fast action scenes and the feel of the combat, much due to the almost comedic use of blood and dismemberments, is what tends to give it an overall anime sort of feel.
