heh. If you want to be really annoyed with me, consider this tidbit...
The Orbital Stations are in the build you have right now. They have been since we launched. We're just waiting for a certain feature to be ready before activating them.

And yes...before anyone starts calling me a cheat and liar..."SmokeJumper" is still me. I have two login accounts. Sue me.
"SmokeJumperPS" and "SmokeJumper" are both me. I'll get Blackbird to "blue" this account also so you can see the pretty dev tag so you don't doubt me.

Yea, I've known they were in all along :p

There are sounds for them in the bigass file

Sure, ruin all my fun... :p BTW, were you in the really early beta?

Yes, space platforms were never in when I played however. I played an alpha version of PS way back last december. The respawn screen didnt even have a map, it came up with this little menu and listed the bases and AMS's nearby but you had no idea where they were

damn, any weps or anything that were in that got kicked out??

Not when I played.

Edit: There was a flamethrower WAAAAY back when PS was announced, but they realised it was too much of an FPS issue :p

It would be cool if we could have little space battle with lil' star fighters or sumtin.

I've been pretty certain they've been there all along. When I first got into beta I was expecting them, instead I just got the HART centre. When I went looking around in the PS directory however I did notice the music for the HART centre is called "orbital_platform" which is kind of a hint towards that being the original music for the orbital stations - and that they quickly removed that part for whatever reasons.

It'll be interesting to see them though, as long as we're not expected to pay for them. >:

Gee Now They wouldn't want us to have FPS issue's? Right? ;) ;)

Woner what they have planned :D

control of an orbital station? controling the Orbital Srtike platforms? :) sounds interesting

What did orbital stations do?

I want to know too!!

Originally the process was that you'd go up into the orbital station in the HART, then you'd be on a physical space station and go into the drop pods manually, then select where to drop. But they went with just skipping the orbital station and going right to the map.

I expect if they're reimplementing them there'll be more uses for them. For example, maybe there could be huge drop pods which support a squad and a vehicle (like a Galaxy). I'd love to see things like that.

Sounds interesting and I also like the fact they decreased the HART timer and the fact it launches way faster.

Black, that's a bug. It was that way for beta to expedite the beta testing process.

wat happens wen u drop and u accidently click on some water? do u land then die, do u land hte drown, or does the game not let u?

Doom, it won't let you drop over water or inside SOI's.

They alredy have orbital stations in the game, where do you think OSes come from?

Thrik

Obviously they mean as a physically usable entity.

I kinda had an idea for this.

Say an the TR captures the NC's three home continents. Then, through a mockably poorly encrypted beam o' info, they learn the current position of the NC's orbital platform. The "CC" is at the top of the station, and, after getting past the many layers of defenses (enemies enter through the bottom), they can hack the platform. This would provide 2 benefits for the enemy

1) 1/2 timer on OS'/EMP's/Reveal Enemy/Friendly scan.
2) Enemy HART = Defunct.

Now, keep in mind that the NC HART (in this scenario) is still programmed to pilot into that Orbital Station. So, can you imagine a massive force pouring out of the HART bay and a huge fight over the station? That would r0x0r.

Actually, they implemented a type of flamethrower. The Maelstrom acts like one anyways. Instead of flame, it's electricity. Still works the same though

What we need is more players before we add new areas.
