Can someone explain the caverns all the buildings and the modules

I was in CC beta and i am still confused about the caves individual builings and what should i do while im down their? Just kill people i guess

Go to Stasis North or South. Go to CC. Grab stasis box. Go to Core Complex. Charge stasis box. Leave the cavern with the module. Install it at a generator in a friendly base.
