Can any of you kind people let me know how to traverse the gun on the Flail? When I deploy it the gun won't turn, it just goes up and down. I tried messing about with the key mappng but couldn't find anything that worked. (unless it's supposed to be like that...the horror...).

I can put up with being flamed and called a n00b as long as someone has a sensible answer in there somewhere :D

BTW although this is my first post, I've read more than a few of the threads. Despite this, for some reason I keep coming back. So I though I might as well introduce myself [ Motorhead-Vanu-Werner] and say hi to all at PSU, and thanks to those few that have posted anything remotely intelligent. You know who you are ;)

Firstly, those things are bloody evil. I was an infiltrator and I observed as a whole squad of them came into my base, destroyed each turret in one or two shots, and wiped out ANYTHING in their way.

Yes, they can only fire up and down from what I observed earlier. But I think these things work better in a squad, as they set themselves up so at least one of them could hit anywhere in sight. Seriously, they were unstoppable. I watched a poor MAX come out with seemingly full health and be wiped out in one shot.

Nasty things.

I don't know why you can't turn your flail. Stop it at the location of your choice and press j. J deployes it. Then use the mouse to rotate the turrent around and elavate it.

Yeah the Flail packs a punch, but it is for bombardment and keeping the enm down. I will tell you this don't get stuck out there with no anti-air cover god. I had a reavor kill me last night he just hovered around and rocketed me to death. You can get them if they are up close, but a good reavor pilot stays back and cirlces.

The few things I don't like about the flail is that i have to reload it in the caves only and that i have to cert in it specifically. I think that it should be linked in with the assault tank cert. Oh well anyways.

They reload @ repair silos over time if you have the right mod.

Turn off mouse steering.

Yup, that'll work for all vehicles.

Same thing that makes the lightning's turret work.

Whats with the "ranging shot" on this thing. I just messed with it in VR and the text description that comes up says that using alternate fire you can get a chase cam shot of the path the projectile will take. This doesnt seem to work.

Is it just a VR thing? The router didn't fully work either, it would deploy but it didnt create any gate, I figured this was just cause it was in VR training.

After seeing them in game, they seemed like they would be bigger for some reason.

I myself am curious about the ranging shot, as that would be really cool. But it didnt even work in Beta. But the router must have its telepad deployed by someone with CC and then it takes a minute or so to actually work. When i did it in beta, there was no animation and it was really finicky.

Wierd, i woulndt think it would be that complicated, its essentially the same thing as the alt fire on a decimator. How can this be targeted at long distances then?

I may have just not waited long enough for the router.

CC looks like it might need a couple patches before its good.

They won't do that, unless that already did. If they did, then spotters would be useless. And so without a ranging shot, to fire long distances, you NEED a spotter running with a laze pointer. Otherwise, WTF would be the point of a Laze pointer? And, BTW, they work Magnificently.

How does the laze pointer work though? I mean if its just a column of light like a waypoint I would think it would be tough to get the depth right.

It gives you the waypoint and a spot to aim at on your screen. You have to have the spotter tell you if you are actually hitting the target though.
