Router and Stuff (Not a Nerf)

Before anyone starts to think it may be, it's not.. it's not asking for a nerf or saying sony has been bad, just asking for opinions....

Well I've yet to get my hands on the cc expansion, due to funds.. but I was kind of shocked to find that SOE had kind of sunk a bit low on some fronts, those fronts mainly being the laze unit and the router...

OK it's understandable about the laze unit, that is I guess a perk of the cc technology, but it's kind of the router that bugged me a bit....

Turns out if you don't have the cc expansion you can't teleport through the router, bit harsh isn't it? Enemy strolls in and plants a nice pad in some key point, not got CC? well then you can only wait for them to pour through and kill them, but you know that they will overpower you in the end, It would have just been nice if everyone could go through it, that way you'd beable to pop through and destroy the source... the technology may be hidden and new, but hardly much of an excuse to not allow people through it... I mean the SB and Flail will still hurt everyone...

Anyhow... I like the expansion and will get it as soon as I can, but just wondered what you guys thought...

I agree totally with you on that, eveyrone should be able to teleport through the router, maybe not use the router itself but just be able to teleport (which is pretty much what you said). I haven't gotten cc yet but I'm thinking about it, have to get my hands on one of those flails... hopefully less people will use them though later on. Today I saw all three empires have flail wars, and there was a constant stream of at least 5 artilery pulses going across the sky at all times.

I don't have CC. I teleported through a router. Are you sure the router had a telepad deployed? If there's no telepad deployed, you wont transport anywhere. Oh, and I think teleporting in the VR driving range is bugged...

yeah, the Router does take a minute to link up to the deployed telepad. you can tell if its deployed, theres a triangle-type thing hovering armound it

Definately! On Emerald at Ishundar/Marduk last night some kind soul placed a Router close to an AMS in the courtyard and the spawn point close to the tower. Worked rather well I think.

Heard some scarey tales of how these can be used to get troops inside an occupied base though. :eek:

One of the guys I was squaded with last night was whining 'cause he wasn't able to use the Router because he didn't have CC. Even though a couple of the other guys in the squad, who didn't have CC either, were able to use it. Poor sap was trying to use an undeployed Router. :rofl:

Seems I recall one of the guys saying something about only being able to use the router so many times though. Not sure if this is the case or not, I have CC.

When I was playing the other night there was a telepad in the tower spawn room, that took you to the back door of the base :eek:
