ive heard rumors that infils are getting a buff, but the OF (and site) lacks any details. would someone like to enlighten me? ;)

THere are no details. The Devs have stated however that they believe the infil suit needs tweaking.

It's called the Spiker, and it's included free with every copy of Core Combat.

Other than that, when pressed on the last Ask the Devs thing Dallas Dickinson (producer at SOE) said they might look at doing something to the Interlink Radar because although he hadn't noticed anything personally, there were a lot of crying babies on the forums.

Spiker, not that good for cloackers unless they are trying to blow up a vechical. AMP and Reapeater is still good for close range infatry fighting. As for infl buffs, I don't have a clue what they are. If they are going to weaken interlink facilty rader, just keep the spitfires from shooting at me when im crouch walking.

My ideas for infl buffs, more backpack space and 10 armor.

Try it again Stealthkiller, you can 2-shot kill an Agile. :D

Still its harder, I tried it in beta. Unless they buffed its damage you have to fully charge it to get full damage, and I'm pretty sure when you do that your fully visable. Anyway, what buffs will you think there going to implament if any.

Youre kidding right? Ive tested the Spiker against all armor heres what i got:
Standard: 2 shots
Agile: 2 shots
Reinforced: 2 Shots
Infiltration:2 Shots
VS Max: Unknown
NC MAX: 10-12 shots
TR MAX: 8-10 shots

I know what youre thinking "how the hell are the kills for armor the same?" this is because the Spiker bypasses the armor itself and go right for the health
As for vehicles... more testing required.

so why does it take longer to kill a MAX? ive been shot by it before, and im pretty sure i lost armor, so that doesnt seem accurate. also a pistol that kills rexo faster than Lasher/MCG doesnt seem quite right, though the shots are slower (refire), so i guess missing would SOL an infil againist a watchful enemy.

well, ive tested it with friendly NC and TR buddies and they said that they lost very little armor (im talkin like 5-10) they said they lost massive health like 45-60 so im just sayin armor realyl dosnt stop the spiker. And i have NO idea why MAXes can avoid the armor bypass thing, but it does. yeah, missing would be fatal against a watchful nme :D

MAXs function differently than infantry. Take the Bolt Driver for instance. It does much more health than armor damage to agile/rexo but if you shoot a MAX you'll note that their health stays untouched. MAXs act more like vehicles in reguards to how they absorb damage.

boomers are jesus's toys.

use them. love them.

My loadout is

4 ACES
REK

Don't need anything else.

EDIT: Although i wouldn't mind seeing some buffs(err fixes, wahtever the devs are going to end up calling them. "We have improved the infiltration suit by making is invisible even when an enemy spawns!" ) on the infils.

4 ACEs right 1024? though 4 AMP's would be interesting youd have more ammo win a box of ammo. but, i know what you meant.

As an infiltrator, I like the Interlink Facility benifits...because I hate other infiltrators. :)

god i hate that FLB... which it would die! :flamemad:
the damn spitfires hit you even when crouch walking! They shouldnt be allowed to do that, only if there is a MST (Motion Sensor Thing) nearby.

I know, you're even wrong about spitfires and crouch walking though I doubt that was a simple typo.

Seriously? I honestly can't make it happen. I have been on a crusade for the past 3 weeks trying to get fragged by spitfires while crouchwalking. Yesterday I did two laps through an Interlink's courtyard that was festooned with motion sensors and spitfires, not one of them shot at me until I got bored and tried to surge to one of the side doors.

was there an uninterupeted link to the base from an ILF Jagd, or are you just lieing through your teeth?

Realy, none the deployables should not be able to detect crouch-walking infiltrators, which they do. However, I do believe they stealth adjusted the spitfires so that they only target crouch-walkers when said soldier is also being detected by an motion sensor.

Still, the thing is called a fucking "Motion sensor alarm", so it should be based on motion. The only thing and ILF shoudl do to deployables is MAYBE increase their detection range, not what detect.

typically this happens to me after a flashy move, like bailing from a skeeter. sometimes it happens when a skeeter flies over head. honestly though, it seems random.

/edit/ hey where's my sig??

Yesterday I did two laps through an Interlink's courtyard that was festooned with motion sensors and spitfires, not one of them shot at me until I got bored and tried to surge to one of the side doors.

Hadn't played my infil in forever, so I logged him on hoping that there was some stealth loving for the infil that made it so the interlink didn't rape infils any more. Jagd's post gave me hope. I took a tower surrounded by deployables which didn't have a direct link to an Interlink Facility, crouch walking as usual a great distance because some really good combat engineers set up the defense. I was only able to hold the tower for about 5 minutes, got killed and the tower switched sides. I spawned at a nearby AMS, headed for the tower and started crouch walking from the base of the hill it was on. As I crested the hill, crouch walking the whole time, spitfires opened fire and dropped me quickly. I checked my map and sure enough the VS had just capped an Interlink Facility and it was in the lattice.
I wasn't on any sort of crusade, but I certainly had no problem duplicating what I'd already seen too many times.
