Do you guys think shields should take more damage? As they are right now they usually only buy you one shot (in an aircraft for example) why even bother?

yeah, for how long they take to charge up, it really dosent take to long to bring em down... the only shield that can take more than 2 rockets, it the Flail... it can take about 6-8 rockets then it depleats

Meh i've never had a problem with them yet.

Make shields too strong and tanks and other vehicles may be over powered.

It all depends on the vehicle your driving too. I drive a sunderer at those have some pretty tough shields.

i say quit whining, humans shield technology isnt much advanced, thats y we have armor, and reavers armor can handle most light/medium weaponry

compared to what? it seems as though Vanu didnt even have shield tech. Shields dont even matter for the skeeter, bursters kill me instantly anyway. I say make the shields equal the same as the armor, the recharge only available at the "Repair Silo" and only when you have a AMP link. With that I would increase the timer quite a bit. Though a Vanguard with double the armor would bring about the End of Days.

Of all the places I would expect to see shields, I would have though the Sanc would have it. Maybe have all vech spawn with full shields. This could even slow the HART zergers growing population.

I agree with that part of it....but also the hart shouldn't be 2 1/2 minutes either though

no really, why do we have it? completely kills squads, tactics, even outfits are taking a hit from it. that, coupled with my new FPS issues , is about all i can stand. :(

Well, shield are fine as they are. a fully shielded Mag or AMS can take out alot of mines.

The problem is the shield is a percentage of the vehicle's base armor. If it were a constant, or if it changed the way damage was calculated against the vehicle's hull, it would certainly be more useful.

Still, as was stated, any shield is better than no shield.

Remember Hamma, those Lightnings you drive don't have that big of shields :)

Shields need to be upgraded, or you should have an atomatic shield already when you buy your vehicle (the current crappy one) and you can upgrade your shield when you capture that base (sry, forgot the name).

I think shields are fine as they are. In my lightning I rely on the shield to keep me alive that extra second or two when I am ambushed by something meaner than me. It usually allows me enough time to get the heck out of there so I can repair and try again.

To think of the shield as added armor isn't very smart. It's too easily stripped and not easily replaced.

Well, lets face it, It's the grunts that are necessary to win the base caps, but it's the vehicles that actually WIN the base cap. and essentially, the war. If one side had vehicles, and the other had none, and you were on the side that had none, KISS YOUR ASS GOODBYE.

they could just not do as much for some vehicles and say that the vanguard for instance doesnt ahve as much room for sheild generator and just give them less.

Meh, personally i'm fairly antivehicle and think they are already mondo strong, the shields just compound the problem, as they are I'm fairly happy with them. The shields wernt meant to make you unkillable just give you time to take advantage of vehciels true defense, manueverability to get away. The other problem I have with your argument that vehicles should be buff because their vehicles just doesnt hold water when you look at 2-4 points for a vehicle certs versus 5 to say 9 points to combat vehicles, even then one vehicle versus more thena few grunts is still going to kick their asses and roll away to repair. You've already gotten signifigantly increased repair rates near bases which makes aircraft a breeze to fly if you have a dropship center. In short quit yer bitchin' :P
