Alot of people misunderstand the meaning of the word "n00b." Some people think that n00b means newbie, this isnt the case. A n00b. in short, is an arsehole who fucks things up on purpose, or out of blatent stupidity (not ignorance)

These team killing, spawn tube blocking, vehicle ramming fools should be named and known to all those in the gaming community as the freaks that they are.

We all have screen shots and stories of their actions, so post them here.

I have seen various purposeful team killings and knifings, but this guy really takes the n00b crown so far.

SCREEN SHOT (http://mysite.freeserve.com/terahertz/nameshame1.jpg)

There weren't many people left in the base once we'd swept over it, so we decided to leave a few folk behind to fix it up. I stayed in my AMS, and somone else went off on an ANT run. When he got back he proceeded to load up the silo. After a few seconds an aircraft arrived and began to hover over my team mate.s ANT.

Ignoring it, I undeployed my ams to get ready for the next waypoint when suddenly I hear a volley of fire and an explosion. My ANT driving team mate was killed by the friendly aicraft. Seconds later another ANT rammed the wreckage out of the way and proceeded to fill the silo.

(See the text panel in the above pic)

After about 3 mins PKNutty messaged me again saying
"and what do you know about me anyway. How do you know I'm not tracing your IP right now."

...typical n00b response.

I think the term noob does refer to a player that is new and does not understand what he is supposed to be doing. This annoys veteran players who are trying to hurry and a few noobs are in the way or otherwise not helping the situation. Noobs can get you killed because they dont know any better.

The TK guy you are talking about in your example there is just a petty moron. There are people out there like that. Ive had someone open fire on me because I deployed my full ANT at an empty silo just as he pulled up with his ANT. I just got in my vehicle. The he typed a /tell letting me know I was a wussie for running. I just told him he was too slow and there is no prize for second place. I know that burned him up. :) Another guy TDed me because I deployed my AMS near a base. This prevented him from deploying his, apparently in his favorite spot, and so he decided I needed to die for the inconvenience to him. So I just respawned and was headed over for a vengeance kill, but a MAX in my platoon beat me to it. I guess poop for brains did not figure on me being platooned up with 30 others (mostly members from my outfit).

Anyway, I dont call these people noobs I call them morons.

I have actually had people send me hate tells that run me over and kill me when I am in the middle of nowhere because they got grief. I have actually had a person send me hate tells because they TKd me trying to fire a rocklet through my back as troops are rushing into a tower.

The other day some fuckstick infiltrator in the module building of one of the caves was playing grabass with another infiltrator trying to knife each other. I was playing my Grunt char and just moving through when a NC trooper comes through the door. The ledges in the module buildings are obviously cramped and both the infiltrators died in the collateral damage that ensued. The fuckstick then proceeds to ignor the fact that the NC had killed his friend and I had killed the NC trooper. Hell, I think he was so out of it, he didnt even know that an NC trooper was there at all. Dude sends me all this abusive language that I was a TKr. The sheer stupidity of people like this are absolutly unbelievable.

The way I handle someone that has the sheer audacity to send me a hate tell is simple. I put them on ignore then hunt them down like a dog killing them over and over again untill I grieflock or they log and have my platoon and outfit do the same.

I understand your ire queensidecastle. One thing you brought up though is kind of a peeve of mine within the game. Now, before I continue, let me state that I dont know the full situation you were in when you took that rocket to the back. And that guy then flaming for it you was lame. However, it amazes me how many people have no idea how to defend a base.

In PS when I find myself guarding a room with several members from my empire the following usually ensues.

The situation:

12 defenders
1 entry door the enemy is trying to pour though

Typically all 12 defenders will have weapons pointed at the door and things appear orderly. Then suddenly the door opens and there stands an enemy MAX. About 1/3 of the defenders charge the doorway taking enemy and friendly fire all the same, 1/3 start strafing and dodging trying to avoid enemy fire and get clear shots past the chargers, and 1/3 hold position and fire. The end effect is we shoot the enemy, we shoot ourselves, we shoot the walls, and we get over run. In the Military we call this a cluster f**k!

There is no way in hell the enemy should have been able to overrun that position as easily as they did, but people have no idea how to work together and work effectively. Obviously you dont charge or otherwise move or stand in the way. If everyone spreads out so they have a clear shot on the door before it opens and just FIRES when it opens youd murder anyone coming through that way. But, nope, thats not how it works. Some people just need the action and have no patience and then there is that rush to get the kill/exp. Thats why I dont really like the way the exp system is set up. There is always that competition with other friendly players to get that last shot in. All the spoils go to person who lands the killing shot and so you get this kind of tactical nightmare. People are not playing to defend or attack intelligently, they are playing to level up.

Funny and at the same time sad and annoying.

Exactly. When these, as QueenSC put it, Fucksticks interrupt the smooth flow of your game, you get anrgy, but jesus, let it pass people. I'm sure that you've done stupid things in this game before. Alot of people call players that use Jackhammers, n00bs, but for fucksakes, don't try to tell me that if you had access to a weapon like that, you would not use it. Forget the certs. I'm talking if you could, you would.
I used to play Medal of Honor : Allied Assault for 16 months. I learned every single weapon, and became very good with them all. I could use each one with equal dexterity. I still have to shake my head whenever I remember the hoes that bitched at me, and called me a n00b for using a rocket launcher to kill them with it. I wasn't a n00b, I was a better player than they were. And I never cheated once. Even my other gaming buddies tried a few of the cheats.
Don't call people n00bs just because they can kill you with a powerful, short-ranged weapon.
But I digress from the subject...
I don't get too angry at other players. I get run over all the time, and mostly I just shrug it off. I sometimes get hate tells, and when I do, I go looking for that person, not because I want revenge, no, because usually when a person is mad, they make mistakes, errors in judgement, and such, making it easier for me to kill them.

The jackhammer ruins combat. There are no 1 on 1 firefights against the NC that last more than a second. its just, Cherchunk cherchunk...dead.

Im BR8, and some BR18 guy started nailing me and 3 others left behind in a base with his jackhammer and heavy armour. I use a lancer which is pretty good, espeicaly at close range., but I manaegd to kill the guy and took his jackhammer, and OMG
A disgusting amount of power. This wouldn't be so bad if NC vehicles didn't own.

Pointing out the cheese-factor of the almighty Jackhammer? You'd best watch out before you find yourself in a NC reeducation facility.

Newb = New Player

n00b = ignorant and stubborn new player who thinks he knows how to play , but simply doesn't , usually players ages 8-12 who are mad cuz their mommy told them to go to bed in 15 mins.

Precisely. It seems that most HA users are just trying to port the "KILL EVERYTHING" aspect of most FPS games into PS.

Me? I like to keep my mayhem tactical - ScatMAX. Powerful as fuck, but it only takes 3 Deci's.

My question is, Why are you using an over-used, old slang word that already means something, to mean something somewhat different, when there is already a word for those people? You say n00b is ignorant stubborn people. An asshole who fucks things up. *Raises hands* There's already a word for that description. In fact, two words. Asshole, and fuckwad. In fact, put them together, and you've got a pretty descriptive phrase. Why use a word that already means the same thing, instead of changing the meaning of an overused retarded word like n00b? The word n00b doesn't mean a damn thing to me. There's already a word out that means the same damn thing. It's called Rookie.

Ok here's a story for you all:

I was in a base that was under heavy attack by TR, I played NC and I finally managed to breach into the CC room and kill of the defenders who tried to protect their hack. I start to dehack as I was adv hacker and a "friendly nc" with a Sweeper-shotgun comes in, stand near me, looks around and then blasts me to oblivion as I had 10 seconds left on the secure. That was the worst case I have ever seen of n00b.

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

I mean, I even said: "Hey, some support plz?" to to the guy to let him know I needed some backup.

Sheesh

Its funny that you mention that Macavity. Being an Infil, I get killed by my own team all the time while hacking a CC. The funny thing here is even if they dont notice your green name, they didnt catch the fact that an enemy infil cannot hack a tower they already own or the grief points when they shoot you.

Infiltrators get TKd all night long, its just the way it is. People dont see you and they make mistakes. It is the people that make mistakes then blame you for them with hate tells I cannot tolerate

In defense of someone who has killed infils on my team....

So there I am, I spawn in a tower and I immediately hear, Woosh clank, whoosh clank, whoosh clank, whoosh clank. I see a dead NC I think on the floor an dI think to myself..."The hell?" whoosh clank, whoosh clank, whoosh clank. I step out of the tub to see what is up, I take a step, turn around and don't see anythng. Whoosh clank, whoosh clank...out comes the supressor, I aim at the guy on the floor infront of the tubes....whoosh clank. I open fire. BRAAAAATTT!!! +10 grief. I think the hell, why am I getting grief for shooting at a dead enemy corpse making weird noises....BRRATTT BRRRAAAATTT BRRRATTT goes my supressor, and the the infiltrator appears infront of me as he dies. Suddenly it all becomes clear, except for why the guy is knifing the dead corpse over and over. I was to close, or the name wasn't displayed, I had no clue the guy was there.

And then there is all the times we are on the ridges with our rifles at x8 looking for some bastard TR or NC to kill. During these times the infils running around are clearly visible, without names. At these ranges all I know is there is an infil out there among the enemy, sometimes they are mine, sometimes they are not.

And then there is the 100s of times I am crouched by a CC with darklight on and a shimmering shape runs by me very close so all I can see of them is upper torso and legs. It's a miracle I have never shot one of my own in these situations cause it always scares the crap out of me, and my brain always screams, "CLOAKER!"

Ah well.

as for the asshole thing. There I am defending the CC hack, and asking people who stop infront of the door I am covering to clear my line of fire. One guys stops. I hit my Macro, "Please clear my line of fire." He dosen't move. I hit it again. he turns and looks at me, crouching between me and the door so I punch the macro a third time, "Please clear my line of fire." The guy gets up and walks beside me, before I can say thank you he pulls his lasher and wipes me out for spoamming the chat. Oh wait I have an idea, how about just get out of the way when someone asks you to clear your line of fire.
