Ok I am a 7day'er and I would like to become a full member of planetside, unfortunatly it is a huge investment in something that dosnt run very well on my system as is.

Not haveing the original game in order for me to become a full fledged paying subscriber I have to buy the Original Planetside at $50 (if someone could point me to where I could get it cheaper please tell me) Then I would still have to buy CC at another $30 in order to have access to everything the game has to offer.

At my current level of addiction I would have to buy the 6month subscription and make my descision to renew after that. If I am not mistaken the 6 mon sub is $64.

So the total for me a new player to join the game and have access to everything is a grand total of $144 dollars. Sure I could just use the 30day free trial that comes with the Original, still that leaves me with $80 and if I totally skip the expansion I could get in at $50. But with the 7day offer I have a complete working version of the game on my system so I would be paying 50 bucks for a key code. That to me is alot.

What ever happend to how SOE distributed Ruins Of Kunark, I had never played Everquest before, but a couple of my friends said how great it was so I bought Ruins, a full working version of Everquest at a reasonable price. SOE then got 3years of Sub fees plus I bought the next 2 expansions (practically the day they came out).

Basically what this all breaks down to is CC would sell alot more units if it was a full version of Planetside instead of a very poor marketing scheme. The influx of new players would be much greater if they could get into the game at $30 bucks. I know they would have had quite a bit of my money already if I could get in cheaper. As it is I doubt I will be joining you guys as a full member any time soon :(

Good points, well made. How the hell are SOE going to attract new players with such a high entry cost? I for one would not ahve bought in at that rate.

That's got me thinking on how much I have spent on PS

Original game : 30.00
Subs x 4 mnths : 40.00
Core Combat : 20.00
512K mem : 65.00
Rad 9600 pro : 135.00

Total : 290.00

If you WANT to find PS and/or CC at less than department store prices, meaning 50 bucks/30 bucks, then try a second hand store, or second hand software store, or try online. There's e-bay, and I'm sure there are other places. LOOK around.

i'd get planetside instead of playing the demos over and over if...

u'd buy the membership, and then u'd be able to dl the game instead of buying it for 50 bucks

it was cheaper for canadians, with money transactions and different currencies

if my computer was faster

I'd get the game tommorrow if they:
Would let me subscribe and play using the demo I downloaded,
And accepted WorldPay/Switch/Direct Debit.

But neither are likley to happen, so they can just wait.

Naz, the one thing about PS is that it is still a memory hog. You need at least a Gig of memory for it to run stable in most zerg battles.

$18.00 in Australia. If it were something like 25 or 30, I would have my mum pay for it.
