Seeing the blue angels for 13 years in a row is awesome. Havent missed a year since i was 9 months old. I loved them by time i was 4. I go to the mirimar air show. One time i won a "Parasail" flight where you get pushed out the back of a modified dc-10 and float to the ground using hot air currents to get high. It was SO much funny. Wish i could have gone solo but i was only 12 hehe

I hope it would The Phantom was made in waht.. late 50's was the design concieved...

But, No Fighter in the US military ever truly fullfilled the Multi-Role Fighter mission the way the Phantom did. All three Fixed Wing servers(Air Force, Marines and Navy) All flew the Phantom. The Phantom at one time or another full fille dthe following roles:

Air Superiority
Air-to-Ground
CAS
CAP
Strategic Recon
Tactical Recon
Nuke Alert
Wild Weasel

Hey, I'm not saying it wasn't a kick ass machine I'm saying I just didn't like it. Like I don't like Celine Dion, but it doesn't mean she can't sing. Here's a little perspective for you, my favorite plane is the C-130. It does everything but bomb, and it's a frikkin beast.

Well, not really, because you'd fight for us. But we have alot of coast to "defend" and the fact is we ahve about 3 or 4 ships active in the atlantic I think a few in different American carrier groups around the world and a few ships in the poersian gulf. It's jsut that Spanish fishing ships almost broke through the coast to steal fish! That can't happen..heh...We like to protect our fish with firepower. We use our military alot and we really need to increase our budget. Heh, sending our military out is common wuth peacekeeping and going out with the U.S. so it's sometimes a little costly and weird that they use it so much yet at the same time don't increase funding. Hmm, anyway. I think that Canada should get new planes. Not aricarft carriers. Although we could go the way of Britain and get some small carriers sith STOL and VTOL aircarft.

Doesnt do recon.. okay it can carry a pod.. but there is no dedicated RF-18... Besides, Only the Marines and NAvy fly it...

When they would fly against the Navy... F-14's... if they were allowed ot use Pheonix.. you were toast. If not.. The Phantoms often owned em.

F-18..They won more often then not... but the Phantom was no slouch.

there is no dedicated rf-18 that im aware of, but it has performed many recon missions, and its peformed them well

As it should, look, todays fighters are bad ass.. I am not saying they aren't, but give credit where credit is most assuradly due.

The RF-4C was one HELLVA mover. When my Dad went to em, he said his first flight.. that damn thing was streamlined for speed.. and since it had no weapons... lets jsut say he was amazed how FAST that thing could go.. course turing was a different speed.

Yep, Canada bought them when they were a really new plane about 20 years ago. Trudeau cancelled the plans to put nukes in them. Not as bad as the Sea King fleet. LOL. Oldest things ever.
