My grandfather was a CIA ***** during WWII, no lie. I didn't know him, he died when I was in the range of two, but in all the pictures we have of him during the war, he has millitary clothing on, but on insignia of any kind, no denomination of rank. My father believes that he was an interrogater, but we can't really be certain.
And here's the real kicker... we have a certificate of service for him. When my grandma died, my dad decided to see if he could open his service jacket and see what he was... he dosen't exist in millitary records. :-x

A majority of my family has been in the military, either past or present-day. Most of us are combat veterans. My family has a proud heritage of military service- it's tradition and patriotism that we serve our country and give back some of the freedoms that we enjoyed as civilians. Here's a quick run-down (yes, I am proud).
Me: US Army, working on 10 years, combat veteran
My Bro: US Marines, 5 years, combat veteran
My Father: US Marines, retried, 22 years, combat veteran
My Uncle: US Navy, retired, unknown length, current DoD civilian and combat veteran
My Cousin (his daughter): US Navy, 3 years, combat veteran
My Oldest Sister: US Marines, 6 years
My Other Sister: US Marines, 5 years, current CIA, combat veteran
My Grandfather (paternal) US Army Air Corps, combat veteran
My Grandfather (maternal) US Army Air Corps, then US Army (infantry), combat veteran.

CIA, im gonna say that doesnt mean Centeral Intellagence Agency, so what does it mean?
BTW
my Great Uncle (air force), he was in SAC, and i think he might have been in a B 17 in WW2, but i know what that conflict was like, and what it was like for the bomber crews, so i dont wanna bring it up.
and my other great uncle, he was on the 4th Lexington (navy), before it sank, he was transfered.
my Uncle, he was a Marine, but he broke his leg or something right before Desert Storm.
BTW, SAC, is the people that were incharge of Nukes, during the time when the only way possible of delivering a nuke to russia, was through a long range bomber.
thats all i know of, and me, i plan for West Point, ill prolly apply when im 19

You're right- it doesn't mean "Centeral Intellagence Agency", it means "Central Intelligence Agency". Working for the CIA is not necessarily "classified" information, nor is it a breach of security as I did not list her name, my name, or any other information which might be used to track me down. You can find all sorts of information on the internet, if you know where to look.

my great, great grandfather fought in the first and second world wars. we still have one of his old hunting rifles. (we used to have the shells, but we removed them after we thought they might be dangerous.)

grammar nazi. and im sorry, i didnt realize, i just thought that the CIA would use its own people, and not use people from other branches.
BTW. Ditz, a whore on the OF, made a thread like this, its amazing how many Planetside people are in the services or are retired, infact, a few people i know, had to quit playing, becuase they were being shipped out, i can think of this one guy, i think he was one of those Air Force guys, like a Red Beret. i dont know what their official name is, but theyre the Air Forces version of the Seals or the rangers.

From what I understand, the Agency uses both. There are "attachments" from the military (generally ones who have experience) and they also have civilians. They have vanilla-civvies and they have prior-service (like my sister).
My grammar nazi portion was more of a failed attempt at humor. I would consider myself more of a self-inflicting grammar nazi, as I take great personal pride in grammar and spelling. I'm an English major and also a volunteer teacher for an English-as-a-Second-Language class due to my linguistical abilities. Please don't be offended at my dumb jest, I have a decidedly warped sense of humor.
