If you had to give up Surge...

Imagine that Surge got removed because it was abusive to people with slow computers/internet connections and unbalanced Heavy Assault (pure fiction, yes, of course). What implant would you pick to replace Surge and why?

Well I have Surge/Advanced Targeting/DarkLight (Although I never used surge with heavy assault), I would probably pick up Audio Amplifier or Advanced Regeneration.

I'd probably use advanced regeneration. I ditched my Rexo for now, but when I get it back if you asked me that question again I'd say Second Wind. For now I use surge/Audi amp.

well since i just hit br18 today and got Audio amp which makes Surge/Darklight/audio amp id go with adv targeting because i love it but i cant waste space for something thats not totally nessacary

Scrap the regen and get Surge and Medical. Regen is good for Grunt class players that dont have enough BR for Medical. For Infils however MEdical is critical. We take so much splash damage and plasma damage trying to sneak into places that Medical is just critical. I cant count the number of times I have been plasma'd and kept myself propped up. Also, you need surge as an infil if you want to use boomers and attack troops with your pistol. If you fail to kill a grunt on the first pass, they are going to flip on DL, start firing wildly and as you know its easy to see an infil if they are moving. It is no more difficult to see an infil moving up close than it is if they have surge and are up close. Surge will allow you to become extremely hard to hit and you may still be able to kill them or escape. Also Infil + Surge = vehicle so you can get reclaim points spent in a Vehicle depending on your play style.

Surge/Darklight/audio amp This must be the most popular combo. I have it as well.

I'd get silent run because without surge to protect me on CC boomer runs, I'll need silent run to stop the audio amp.

I respectfully disagree. I am BR17 and still don't have Rexo let alone Medical. With the limited inventory space my loadout is AMP, REK, 1 box ammo and 3 nades (2 jammer 1 plasma or vice versa). I'd have to lose 2 nades to get a med applicator.... no thanks.

I have advanced regen and I love it for infil as well as sniping. I use a full loadout of ammo (no medpacks), so if I get tagged by splash damage of something I use regen to get my health back to 100 so 1 sniper shot doesn't take me out.

The option I would vote for isn't listed. I'm going to put on my asbestos suit now, because I'm going to get flamed for this, but...

If they remove surge from the game, I will seriously consider quitting. I love heavy assault, specifically the JH. But without surge, it would be utterly useless. And before you assume I'm another agile-surge-HA monkey, my normal loadout is with rexo. Surge gives me just enough extra to close distances to give me a chance. Without it, the JH is worthless. And it's my favorite gun in the game. So, by that logic, if I can't use my favorite weapon, then why would I play? I probably wouldn't, and that would make me very sad. Here's hoping they don't remove surge.

I did the whole regen implant thing. It was far inferior to the Medical aplicator. My survivability increased 10 fold but I might just be much more aggressive of an infiltrator than yourself. I didnt like the way regen restricted my options as an Infiltrator. I need Surge to evade and escape as well as be almost impossible to hit while attacking. I need Darklight so I can ravage other infiltrators that would try to counter me and scout CCs for traps before my hacks. Most certainly I cannot give one of these up and even if I could the way regen holds your stamina hostage is not acceptable.

Regen is indeed a fine implant for Snipers and it is also nice for Grunts who dont have the spare BR to spend on Medical, but it most certanly is far less effective than the medical applicator. If you spend a lot of time playing a sniper then you can live w/out medical but if you are a pure infil, there is no substitute

Who needs surge when outside your a sniper with your Reaver/Lightning right behind you or if your inside with a Dual Pounder MAX?


Eh, the replacement would be DL, the other regular implants would be adv targeting and audio amp.
