I don't know if this been discussed before but if the Vanu's specific vehicles are hovering above the ground, that mean they have more freedom to move sideward and strafe.
Will this be possible or all the vehicles (of the same type) will behave the same way (for balancing)?
Well... we learn it CAN be done....

Yeah the hover vehicles can strafe. its pretty awkward untill you learn to drive it properly, but once you do, its alot of fun.

tribes players should be used to it with the tank

I can't help but think that the bottom would have to be the weak point, leaving the bottom very vulnerable. If so, should be rather easy to destoy them!

its too bad you can't aim your cannon seperately from your tank.

Hahaa, strafe your little hearts out Vanu. I'll just drive around you in circle and kill you with my rotating turret. hahahah

Too bad that we can turn the tank while strafing which will allow us to aim our cannon wherever we want.
oops. (Why would we care about strafing if we could turn the cannon seperately?)

Yes, without the ability to turn while powersliding, we couldn't effectively strafe. Hence this ability Allows the vanu to effectively strafe. I didn't realize that this fact was so funny.
And what does strafing have to do with sitting still? (nice try btw ;) )
You do realize that this ability allows a single Vanu soldier to be able to do what it takes 2 TR or NC to do.
Just thought i'd point out that the VS tank has two turrets. One of them can rotate just like any other turret. :)

The gun on the front of the Magrider will probably be some utility weapon, and the turret on top will be for killing. Sense its a good size smaller than the other tank's guns, and it only has 1(no MGs) I'm assumeing its a cannon that can only do decent against other tanks and ok vs intantry.
I still prefer a turret so that the pilot doesnt get cocky and try to do his own thing while the gunner is try to be useful.

I'd rather have a turret and a driver. I still think it would allow them too concentrate on one thing o they can do it far better than one person could.

But the key is that if the cannon is fixed the pilot can both drive and shoot.
So what you have is an second person who can be both driving their own vehicle and firing their weapons also.
2 Vanu > 1 NC or TR

Heh, they need the gunner for both. I think it can swivel up and down...Not sure though. I'm pretty sure that all the Heavy tanks are two man. And if it was one man then the VS tank would have to be a lot weaker. So much weaker that two on one for the VS would be an even fight.

Who is going to want to aim a cannon that only goes up and down? Seems like the driver is going to be doing most of the aiming.
I will be very dissapointed if there are tanks where the pilot does most of the aiming and someone else has to be there just to pull the trigger.

Well, be dissapointed all you want or you can get killed in one shot by a knife to make it fair(That's exaggerating)

I think you guys are forgetting that theres more to the game then the tanks. So in other words the vanu tank or any other tank, but lets use the Vanu tank as an example, could be alot better then the other two tanks. Obviously its not the strongest cause the NC tank has already been said it is. Point being not every units equivelant from the other factions has to be equal to balance the game but rather the factions as a whole have to be equal but each one can have their pros and cons. For instance the vanu tank could be better then the nc and tr tank but then one of its other units may be alot weaker then the same type of unit from the other factions in order to balance out the factions as a whole rather then on a one to one bases.
And for the tank being a 2 man job it makes since that the driver would not control the turrets at all, including the front one. the top one appears to rotate side to side and would probably be the p[rimary one the gunner would use and then when they are stationary or heading directly at something tough then the gunner would likly switch to the front gun that appears to be able to be able to pivot up and done to change its shots distance.
I'm hoping for a a 2 man tank, gunner controls top turret and can aim nearly anywhere, behind, up, down, etc. Driver controls bottom turret and (obviously) the tank itself. Bottom turret can only move from side to side, maybe up and down a tiny tiny bit.

Lets all not forget that piloting hover vehicle is going to have a stiffer learning curve than piloting a more conventional vehicle.
