Vehicle Explosions

When a vehicle explode near a person does that person take explosion damage?

I wasn't aware that vehicles actually exploded..I had the idea they just started to smoke really bad and become deactivated.
For the sake of the argument if you're standing next to tank and it explodes it better damn well hurt you; after all the thing is loaded with explosives and amunnition casings.

I'm sure vehicles will explode. Probably won't be any reason for them too, but they'll do it because it's good fireworks.

I can't remember where I saw it (I think it was on the official forums or something), but I know that one of the devs said that vehicle explosions will kill people, and they will also send out chunks of flying metal that will bounce off other objects.

yeah, i read that too Ludio. the bits and pieces won't do damage because he said that the nanites were already dissasembling them. pretty sure he said to think of it as a pillow hitting you. and the wreckage wouldn't hang around long (the high flying pieces will probably vanish before hitting the ground)

That would be great if vehicles did blow up. See a bunch of vanu near an ams, grab some of your buddies with decimators, and well, :blowup:

Thats right Zhor_Prime, you read the same post I did, he said that the explosion would do damage, so the bits that flew off might be hitting your coffin ;)

The bits flying off will dissapear, but the main wreckage will stick around for a while, read the post about using vehicles for cover:

Alright that was what I was hoping for no sniper will make walls with tanks to snipe behind then.
