The view from a space platform(or is it just menu boxes)

"Orbit = space platforms in orbit that you can drop pod through the atmosphere and down to the planet from"
So to get to a platform you take ship at a base that is on a regular timer correct?
It takes you to some sort of space station orbiting above that atmosphere..I got the feeling it could only hold a certain amount of players.
My question is what do you see on you voyage to platform and what is it like when you detach from it and plummet down to earth? It would awesome if you could see the earth from the platform and not just see a bunch of menu boxes.
I'm guessing you won't be able to walk around on the platform with others or have any big glass windows to look at earth:)

orbital stations were taken out awhile ago, mainly b/c there wasn't anything to do up there except hop in a drop pod back to earth. so they took out the middle man.

now you simply take a HART (http://planetside-universe.com/media/viewer.php?cat_id=28&img_id=9) and shoot out of it in a drop pod (http://planetside-universe.com/media/viewer.php?cat_id=29&img_id=4).

So no awe inspiring purty views of earth as you plummet through the atmosphere :(

well, we dont know how high you go in the HART. so it very well might look cool as you plummet to earth.

Yah I saw them. Be nice to see the planet and the continents or at least a few from a high altitude. Wasn't aware they took space platforms out..Would have been awesome to see a major event happening from space;but only thing big enough would be a nuke, which are not in the game for obvious reasons..
Im sure everything is going to look spectacular though and im confident I won't be let down.

i dont think orbital stations had windows even when they were in the game.

i doubt you're missing anything.
