Ive been waiting all year. Time to start drivin out of the city and doing some hunting. Gonna nab me a big one this year, I can feel it. Plz discuss if your a hunter. The only thing I hate about hunting is gutting a deer. Not very fun. But hey ive been desensitised for years. Plz say what kind of gun you have and what not.

Tomarrow I hunt with my 30'06. My father shot a 10 pter with this gun. Then for a while im using my 280 remington.

I'm not a hunter but my friends are. He uses a rifle barreled shotgun or whatnot, 20 guage i believe. I think his highest was a 5pter.

Honestly, I could stand shooting an animal, unless it was attacking me. Its perfectly natural for us to kill cow, buffalo etc. for meat.

But, Id have an emotional breakdown if killed a deer. So what, Im a "softy". this is how I am.

I don't hunt. I cant get used to the idea of squatting in a bush or hiding in a tree for 6 hours with a bottle of deer urine in one hand and a gun in the other. If maybe hunting in RL were like it is in Planetside then I would. Hell yeah, driving through the woods in a buggy with machine guns blazing. I'd pwn those deer. As it stands right now. It sucks.
I use a 45/70 when I do hunt.

I haven't hunted. I'm not into that whole "immoral" thing, but if you kill it, you eat it.

The main reason is that we live in the big old city of Miami. In South Florida the deer look like dogs, but just a bit bigger. Nothing much to hunt here, assuming you found the space. The only good space I can think of would be the Everglades, but there are alligators, crocodiles (yes, BOTH) and park officials- can't hunt there, it's a Nat'l park.

The second reason is that (I think) we only have one precision rifle. (Sniper rifles for the 1337 but non-gun owners). The rest are assault rifles. If I unload with an AUG into one of our minature Key deer, there won't be much left. And that's not hunting, it's genocide.

The fishing pwns here, though. Not that I can fish for beans, but...

I want to go target shooting soon. My dad got this .38 revolver from some guy that he wants me to try out.

He had an old Savage .356 WW2-era hunting rifle that I still oil today. Thing could take the head off a moose.

:envy: I'd kill for that myself. Its an hour and a half drive to the nearest shooting area from where I am.

I'm a (formerly competitive) shooter, but I'm surely no hunter. I have nothing against it have taken a quail or two myself. I understand both the need and the desire to hunt, I just rarely do it.

Savage Model 110 .243 with 4 power scope firing a 100 grain/factory load.

Get a deer every year. Usually snag an elk once every 3-5 years (population is dwindling).

Havn't gotten a nice buck in a few years. Luckily I've been drawn for a doe tag every year since I started hunting. Snagged a nice doe this year, she boned out to about 175 pounds of meat.

Three years ago I got a huge 5x4 muley. He was massive too, boned out to almost 300 lbs. We ended up quartering him out just to get him home, a real nice animal.

I do alot of bird hunting as well. I really enjoy hunting pheasant, chuckar, and ****. Quail are fun, but you go through an assload of ammo.

Peacemaker, you easterners are goofy with your scoring system...counting all the points and such. That buck I mentioned above would have been an 11-pointer by your standards. It was funny, even though he was a muledeer, he had little eye guards forming low on the antler. They were about an inch long so we didn't count them.

I use a 25'06 and go hunting whenever i run out of whats in my deep fridge. Always eat em though, killin for sport seems like a waste.
