These concepts have been forgotten in the future world of PlanetSide for some reason, despite the fact that they exist in the present.

Camoflauge. Need I say more?

Nose-mounted radar. Capable of tracking multiple targets over 50 miles away.

Air-to-air missiles. AIM-9L heatseeker shown here.

Assault rifle ammunition. Everything except the Bolt Driver fires 9mm pistol.

Rapid-firing aircraft weaponry. WW2-era MG151/20mm shown. This gun fired at 800 rounds per minute, about as much as an MP5. Why did aircraft weaponry become slow as balls?

Stealth technology. Apart from the Mosquito, nothing is invisible to radar.

And finally...

Where the fuck does everyone live?

Its meant to be a game not a civilization. I know the story includes this but I like the way PS is currently and I dont think adding a city will make it any better. Or anti-aircraft machine guns. It would be cool to have some of thoughs things added tho.

Harrasser is invisible to radar, so is the wraith. Adding destroyable cities that repair themselves over night would be much fun x10.

Hehe, nice thoughts but they made it that way for balance reasons obviously.

air to air missles on a reaver would be a nice option. much as we have AP and std ammo loadouts for rifles, giving ground attack vs air to air would be fun. especially with as many aircraft as are seen in combat zones, but then you'd really want to give other aircraft some kind of spoof to work against it. either chaff or flares.

Gr! nobody needs homes cause everyone who hasnt used the rebirth tech has dies permanently. 8)

And if you can just kill yourself and go to the nice warm sanctuarry and your nice warm army bunch or recall. Who needs a warm home. It must damn cosy in that rebirth chamber after all. Like a womb. Which explains all the whiny over sensitive people. :brow:

A city is a great place to have a war.

In the caverns. Well at least that is what I assume, only place you can go without a fight starting. :D

I have to agree about the necessity of having cities, or towns or villages or something. Putting in some areas of habitation would not have been difficult for Sony to do at all. This was very lazy on their part. Assuming that putting in towns that were destroyable would have been difficult, placing a couple of different areas of habitation would have been quite easy. They got lazy and wanted to get the product out. After spending two years of preparing to get into beta, they didn't want to spend the extra time.

That, to me, appears to be with the problem with this game in that things were rushed. Yes, this game is novel and different from any other and Sony assumed that this would be enough ... but ... based upon server populations it is not. Likewise, through the lack of many people buying the expansion it shows that content is not there. The caverns are never used. They rushed an expansion out without really providing anything more for the players. The expansion could have easily been a patch (for example, housing in DAOC).

Sony has to get a big thumbs down for not spending the extra time to fine tune the game.

:indeed:

You're forgetting that realism takes the backseat to gameplay and balance.

You dont really need camoflauge. Remember back in the day? Where the hell was the camo? It was in suits that represented your country.

The nose radar would screw the game.

I do would like to see some guided missles on aircraft, like the reaver perhaps.

Dont really care much.

The fire fate on the vehicles are fast enough, otherwise everybody would be dead right out of the spawntube. But yea, where the hell did that go?

Everyone probably found ways to overcome stealth thecnology and there are just a few things that we dont know how to overcome.

And I dont want to see a cont. full of buildings, I mean that would be kool. But do we want to live right next to some warpgate that has barneys just pouring out of the jump? No thanks. Plus some bases got cots. But I would like to see a civilized sanctuary with paved roads, apartments, just buildings here and there. Maybe even a farm..... cause how the hell does everyone survive without food? I mean you just starve to death, respawn, and starve to death again?

wts moron? do you not understand? look at WWII Online, the best example that realism does not always make a good game, to a certain extent.
