Those are not 3-D rendered models. Those are photoshopped images. To obtain 3-D rendered models you would most likely need parts of the source code and have to convert those said models to 3DSM supported renders. Which you can't do.

Check out BrileyPS's Site (http://www.bbriley.com/). He has some nice models he did for PlanetSide. He was one of the art devs for the game.

That's a good idea. Nice thinking Mani. I think he may just want the images for a banner. I don't know why else he would need those 3d renders. Plus i think it's illegal to alter them.

its only against the EULA to change/alter the models in any way that gives you an advantage over other players.

Negative, well kinda...

The DMCA stormtroppers will rape you for trying to reverse engineer the Planetside files to try and get the 3d models out of it.

I wonder if it's against the DMCA to talk about the DMCA... Oh no, thats the TIA... You know what else the TIA sees?

First rule of DMCA, don't talk about DMCA.

there are some 3d images of the PS empire logos, not sure if that's what you're looking for:

You won't be able to get the 3D models but you can still import screensots as textures into your 3D editor and make some cool renders.

AHH! 3d Studio MAX... *cry*

I had to do the 25th aniversery animation for my company, and it had to be 4 min long... It took me SO long to do a high quality 3d animation 4 min long... I have not even touched 3dsmax after that.

3D Studio Max = t3h suck :p
Corel Bryce 5 and Maxon Cinema 4D are better IMO

Maya is great... Just as I was really getting into 3d modeling and animating I switched temporarly from 3dsmax to Maya and I loved how intuitive Maya was... Even though I had never read a bit of the documents it quickly became apparant that Maya was a much more powerfull program.

And believe it or not, the single feature of 3ds max that annoyed me the most was how incredibly difficult it was to position the camera! I can not quantify it, but Maya was vastly easier to get your camera into the perfect position to position your uvw map just perfect, or close up that last nurbs curve.

ugh...I suck at 3D editing....tried it on MIlkShape3D, that was a disaster. the only professial software I use is Adobe Premiere Pro.

Premiere is very nice... That is what I used to splice all the rendered sections together, then add the music to it.

Miya is the #1 computer software for creating 3D models, nothing compares to it. It's about, I think 3-5k or something, courses to use it are insane. All the new computer generated movies used Miya.

You can download the full version of Maya, I think it is called the Learning Edition, it is totally unhampered, it just sticks a watermark on the finished product. Thats why I could not use it for my company's animation.

I just downloaded the Maya Learning Edition.....WOW
Its not as user friendly as Cinema 4D but damn its loaded with tons of features.
A license is US $1,999.00 though :(
