There will be some good news regarding certifications tomorrow. I just love this evil game I play...
Is it just me or could this be something even bigger than the Lodestar? Oh those devs are so cruel and yet so kind.

Remember, people can go inside the vehicle that is in the Lodestar, hence, full Sunderer.
Fixing certs? Weeehooo!

I'm really excited about the rearm/repair feature.
I think every continent has only 1 dropship center, therefore this will make it a bit easier on the other 2 empires who don't happen to possess that single base.
Yeah they certainly will change the battle dynamics on a lot of continents like Cyssor, Hossin, Amerish and Forseral where one side gets the dropship centre with hardly any effort, and the other side has a crippled air force due to the scant amount of air towers.

I wonder if it can carry a reaver... or mosquito. I know it would be useful in some situation. I can't think of any right now. The Lodestar would be better if it could drop some sort of bomb, I think. But that would make it better than the Lib. Well that will never happen...It's fun to think about though.
Oh it can drop bombs alright... AMS and Sunderer bombs. :D
I just realized. What if an AMS was in a Lodestar, went over an Amp Station (not a Techplant, or it would deconstruct because of the airpads) and dropped? Spawn point right at the CC. Uh-oh spa-fucking-gettios.
Uh-oh spa-fucking-gettios.
The sheer speed that the base would be pwnzed at, even WITH full defenses and a zerg present, is almost CRIMINAL.

Yes, in a few days, we will be seeing Prowlers rain from the sky...
I don't think you deploy an AMS on top of buildings.

But can you deploy the AMS cloak feild in the bay and then fly. And leave just enough room for hte cockpit to see out. Hence it only haveing thin bars around it.:p which means cloaker pilots. then you fly is over a small platoon of men and drop the Ams right on ther heads killing them instantly and blowing hte rest up. Precision AMS bombing :p
Imagine the horror as that big fat thing "uncloaks"(the AMS feild is no longer around it) and a then all they see is the growing size of the underside of an AMS thats about to land on them and explode. :D
Oh wait, theyd never see the ams coming!
Edit: remember they said you can hit G at any time and dump the vehicle. So you dont have to wait for it to land.
Which means it needs to be in the AMS Router cert so you can get your own drive it in the bay deploy it hit G and have the vehicle be picked up or get out get in to the lodestar and have it pick it up and off you go.
Based on the fact that vehicle passengers loaded into the Galaxy can't exit their personal vehicle, fire weapons, or even see the correct view from the vehicle, I doubt you will be able to deploy an AMS or use any vehicle features while riding in the Lodestar cargo bay.
It's also something of a balance issue. Since the Lodestar alone will likely change game tactics dramatically, they'd be pushing it pretty far to allow Sunderers to fly AND shoot, let alone AMSes that can spawn troops directly onto enemy bases.

It can air drop vehicles, it already said you could. And if it doesnt have a floor and you can pick up vehicls from the lodestar pilot end. you can do what i said. 8)
You drive into teh middle of the craft deploy without Using G to get in the lodestart to pick you up. Get out, get in the pilot seat of hte lodestar. then if you can pick up vehicles as the pilot you can pick it up and go on your way. :p

Any vehicle that manages to end up on the top of a base is deconstructed after 5 seconds. Even aircraft can be deconstructed if they hover an inch off of the roof for long enough.
I'm curious to see how this will work with hovering vehicles though. Currently, if you can manage to get a Magrider into the air high enough (riding on top of reavers/skeeters is fun ;) ) it gets stuck floating in mid air (and from inside the vehicle you see yourself as bobbing up and down). Also I've heard that if you can manage to get a Mag on top of a base it won't deconstruct (this is second hand, haven't seen it myself so it might not be true). I'm sure they'd correct this before the release of the Lodestar, but it'd be funny to see if they didn't

I dont think the abiity to re-arm aircraft is a good idea. It removes the stratedgy of securing all the air towers near a target, makes it harder to find re-arm areas to combat air power, and will see the skies thick with clouds of reavers.
Looks like the next cert I get will have to be AAmax.

Hehe...I was just thinking the same thing. I only have 3 more blocks to br17. Then it's "Starfire, I've missed you. Here I come baby."

How much you wanna bet thats the point. ;)
They just came out with a possibly very heavily armored plane. It logical that theyd do that cause if they dont get you thinking that, you complain that the armor is ot high, and then the vehicles armor has to be dropped. 8)
Which means it can now also afford to have rediculously high amounts of armor.^^ A Max has more use. And combat can now be Slightly more air oriented instead of im guessing mostly ground to ground. This then also gives more room for more types of new strategic development in the game. Instead of it haveing to worry so much about individual weapons damage :p im guessing!

Excellent point Ait'al. Air combat has been slightly neglected in favor of more straight-forward tank and infantry battles. In my opinion, it adds a greatly needed level of complexity to combat.
