Final Fantasy XI

Eh. I realize a lot of people are quitting PS and going to FFXI. I might end up as one of them soon, but for now I'm playing both FFXI and PS. I'm getting the game on Thanksgiving, and I'm pretty excited. My friend goes on the Fairy server and he's going to buy me a server pass. So I'll probably be Doop on Fairy.

Anyone here play? Share your thoughts. :O

Also, for anyone who does play, would a Warior/Samurai that specializes in Spears be a decent character? Either Hume or Galka. I don't want Great Katanas, Spears have a better damage to delay ratio.

no from what I played of the FF series its worse then diablo,in here your screen flashes and a little monster sits to the right of you and you have 4 options

Its called strategy, pick up a console RPG sometime and learn what a real game is. :D

D2 was fun for awhile. The spirit of the game, and the hope to get something new made it fun and playable for a long time, but bots, cheats, dupes and crappiness in general caused by the community ruined the game

dont knock it till you have tried it. "gonna be" dosnt exactly entitle you to an opinion on if the game is any fun.

Actually I have played all those MMORPG's(EQ, DaoC blah blah), and I did play the FFXI beta for a week(I wonder how many old men saw the cat race on the character select screen doing all those stretches and chose her...bwahaha).

Sure its got some neat new stuff to it, but hey. That's just me. I'm taking that long break before I dive into the next one I guess.

I went out and bought FFXI, what a letdown! Same bloody thing as the others, kill make stuff repeat lvl repeat. Seems these type of games still pull suckers in on EQz coattails. And what a deal! You get ONE! toon and gotta pay a buck per mo. for another. Wow what a deal. The game sucks big time! not as bad as that abomination SWG, but still a waste of time and money. Gimme PS anyday!

I actually didn't like FFXI that much. I played it for about 3 weeks. The game was beautiful and played very well, but it was about as exciting as a bag of aluminum cans.

As of Nov 30th I will have had it for a month. I got it a few days after release.
