Hello, this is my first actual post, but i've been reading the forums for quite a while.
anyway, I've been considering my return to Auraxis.
I quit for a number of reasons, main being the horrible fps i would get in certain situations/continents.
Has the fps gotten any better? do the new vehicles add more spice to the game? i quit around the time of the lasher buff and nerf, so excuse my ignorance =)
I used to play on a TR named Arclyte on Emerald, maybe you've heard/seen me

there are more people due to that fps should be lower, but there have been many patchs that at least slightly improved fps. so yes fps are generally better. but guess what, if you stoped playing it would seem like a completely different game. however they did release a really useless expansion.

how would it be completely different? i saw some screenies of CC and i thought it looked cool, then again, i remember the horrible fps i had, which ticked me off because i had a geforce4, the damn thing was sponsored by planetside and i was still getting like 10 fps >:|

Ahh what the?
I had a GeForce Ti4200 back when I played in beta.. and still do. Heh. :D
Back in beta my FPS was fine so long as I turned flora off and some details down. I'm a budget gamer really so I'm used to playing with low detail, luckily im not one of those fussy people when it comes to visual quality, since I know after a few weeks, the graphical wow wears off.

You should come back. The Terran Republic has had some difficulty convincing the dissidents that reunification is the only hope for the future of Auraxis. The snobby rogue scientists have led some good citizens astray, and some hash-smoking rebels with Harassers full of beer cans have broken off also. Our reeducation facilities and death camps have never been so understaffed. Don't they realize those things don't run themselves?

What! The TR! Stay back!
No, just joking. The more the marrier, I say!

The FPS depends on your setup - I have no issues but some people still have trouble. As far as gameplay goes the game is much better after teh balance, pass, FLB, LLU, etc. I've been having allot more fun with it.
I'm just impressed that Hamma is still playing. I feel like coming back just so I can railgun people with the lancer. Can I still do that, anyway?

well, i think i might give it another go, i was suffering some PS withdrawals(sp?), and i just loved the feeling of crushin someone under my prowler treads
btw, how much did CC cost?
$30 and don't waste your money on it. Seriously. I'm sure the majority of people here will agree.

Use a bolt driver like a real man.
Also, to echo previous statements, Core Combat was garbage. Don't buy it, you will rarely ever make use of its content.

what about the new guns/vehicles? and underground caverns? is there any significance to the caverns or is it just another place to fight? and i was hoping to use the mortar tank, that thing looked uber

Mm can you use the CC vehicles above ground even if you don't have CC btw?

You cant use any CC stuff anywhere if you dont have the EXP. I wouldent buy it if your just coming back to try it out again, but if your going to stay buy it - im sure they will make it better.

Doh! :(
So with this router thing, I think thats the one that teleports people. If someone sets one of these things up, I can't use the teleport because I don't have CC?
Yup, but don't worry they have a really limited range making them not that useful anyways. And if you got a nickle for every time you saw a deployed router, you'd probably have about twenty-five cents by now.
The flail is about the only new equipment that is used regularly on the battlefield, and even so it has some major ammo problems. It's more of a disposable artillery piece. :\

Sounds to me like if you had an AMS cloaking 2 or 3 of these flail things you'd have a pretty good artillery setup. :)
Anyway, how far is the router range exactly? For clarity, how many harassers would you fit in the range, lengthwise? :D

I was able to teleport the otherday and I dont have cc.
I walked up to this blue thing I never saw before and - poof - I was teleported.

Yeah, you can teleport just fine without owning CC. This comes from personal experience.
Router's max range is 500m. Which means there is the odd base with a tower close enough to it that it can be used to hop back and forth.
