Anyone play Manhunt yet?
To give you a little background in case you're unfamiliar with the title, basically you're a criminal named James Earl Cash. He's on death row. His execution is staged and he's brought to this strange city. When the sedatives wear off, he wakes up next to an ear piece. Whoever it is talking to him on the other end is filming his every move and tells him he's got another chance at life if he can find his way out of the city. There's just one catch, this person hired a bunch of gangs to hunt Cash down and murder him. Fom what I've played so far, you pretty much just kill people. You can find a variety of weapons to use when executing your enemies. The longer you hold down a button the more violent and gorey the person's death will be, three levels in all.
I don't know....I never really could relate to people who were offended by the Grand Theft Auto series. Usually, video game violence doesn't phase me, but this game really is pretty extreme. This game seems to be at least 10 times worse than anything I've ever played before. After an enemy is killed, you can litterally bash in their head when they're lying on the ground. Another example is when you perform the level 3 execution with the piano wire. Basically you saw the enemy's head off and then pick it up. The head becomes what they call a distraction object that you can use to lure enemies around by throwing it to make sounds.
Perhaps underneath all of the four letter words and violence, this game has a decent storyline. The first few cutscenes sort of hint around to something interesting. What do you guys think? Please discuss!
