yes i know, isn't it preaty? it keeps my card from going sizzle very well, and at a nice healthy 55 degrees celcius without it, the card would fry. The picture makes it look bigger than it actualy is, but it does take up a PCI slot below the Card, and i had to move the Northbridge hs a little bit. Also next weekend i'm goin to take an aluminum Inster out of one of the bay covers i'm not using and make a drive cover for that Ugly DVD-Rom.

most of the cool looking stuff is stuff that preforms well, i need that LED fan, i could hae gone vinila with it but i thought the Lighiting would be cool because my case came whith a window.
However if you see my Keyboad and monitor they are nothing like the case, i'm useing a keyboad that came wiht the first computer we ever owned, a pentium 133mhz (with MMX!), and the monitor i got form my dad because his offic was getting new cad workstations and replacing the monitors too.

Hah :p. Well I will agree the 'modded' cases look kinda lame. The only way I would sort of mod up my case would be wrapping wires and stuff to improve airflow, you should see the inside of mine, its a nest.

Whole thing cost 2,000. The reason I even got this though was because my sister got into a bad accident years ago and messed up her back. Just a few months ago she got her settlement check for 30 something thousand. So she and my parents each payed half and the half my parents payed is my christmas and birthday present.

Rbstr
2003-12-01, 05:34 PM
oh yeah you can get some sweet cases from places like frozencpu.com and xoxide.com they come with all sorts of thing, and they also have supies to mod you own case with Windows, lighting, Watercooling, Fangrills all sorts of stuff.

Ait'al
2003-12-01, 05:38 PM
The case is only 189$. The cost for that is including keyboard mouse 3.5floppy drive full set of fans and an extra thing for HDD that has extra temp sensors. And a dual UV cold cathoide light and UV reactive stuff on all the wires in it. 8) Oh yea, a 6 swtich bus with on, low power and off for the 6main fans. Im then getting a heat tempeture thing, those little pyramid things, to hook up afew more bigger fans if theres room. And the HDD thing will have stuff to run fans for my HDD when i switch to 10,000 rpm. And its a ful sized tower. i couldnt find anything at that price range except full cherry wood ones. IF anyone knows of a place ot buy 500$ range full sized plastic cases give me a post. I may still switch cases if theres one good enough.

The 500 includs all that stuff, not hte 189. Except the 6 fans and the 500Watt psu.

Ok the 500might include Perhipheral cooling, but not sure. Might have to add some more $ for those. 8)

its that X super-alien blue one ive posted a link to a few times. 8)

im just worried they dont automatically set aside teh blue power suply that they advertise with it because it out of stock for atleast individual sale. Im guessing they do though because teh case is under modify and theres no option to change to another psu and hte case is still in stock.

http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/cas-120.html

when i first started out i was expecting up to 1000 dollars. 8) but i cant find anything that expensive.

You can buy some nice water cooled fully modded out cases with like sparkle or enermax 550+ psu's for the 500+ range.

This one is pretty sweet, I love rack mounts:
http://www.directron.com/rm14u.html

Not pretty but extreme cooling:
http://www.directron.com/swiftcase.html

After fully decking this sucker out $$$ can get up there:
http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=H2O-Cases

Rather nice one here:
http://www.sundialmicro.com/cgi-bin/sundial/atc310.html

And if you just want something totally insane:
http://www.rackmountpro.com/productpage.cfm?prodid=1908

Rbstr
2003-12-02, 04:36 PM
yeah but those are rackmounts, they hold lots of computers put together in a cooporative type enviroment, very usefull for servers but not for gaming

Ait'al
2003-12-03, 01:53 AM
I liked the last one. 8) How many can you fit in a server tower and how big of one do you need. Or is there a case that can hold that. :D

And do they happen to have that in a dual Itanium 2. Or is hte Xeon better. 8p

Daleon
2003-12-03, 09:37 AM
Not all of them were rack mounts. The one from cooltechnica uses the AquaExtreme cooling system, making it rather nice setup.

The Blade server? Heh, yea those are nice. You have to order from someone like Compaq Business if you want high end It2's in blade servers. And you would normally mount it in a server rack chasis, which are rather expensive themselves.

Ha my oldest comp was a pentium 133mhz with MMX, 3 mb of ram, 8mb videocard and a 2gb hd

bull Rbstr. you cant use only 3mb whne they got to 133mhz. The 486DX2 was only 55 mhz and those and those went up to 64 mb just before the pentium came out. I have a dual 386 upstairs. with and old caseelngth card that holds 32 pin sims and can go up to 32mb i think if it accepts 2mb cards. if not its only 16mb. all VGA slots. i also have a tandy 3100 up there with a 386 with 25 and 33mhz and up to 64mb, currently an 8 and two 4s. Or did you mean 33mhz. I dont know hwat my comodore ran at but it ran stuff like the T2 demo and the schorched earth and the original street firghter game when it came out and they finally transfered it to the amiga. I never got to get an AppleIIE or anything form back then and regular PCs were to damn expensive. 8( I have something else that is a pentium 1 i think. Had 1 gig hdd, a PCI and some ISAs. I have to get some drams to upgrade all there video memory. I never did it. and i have to find someone with like.... wait that had 8 on each side. The dual 386 everex was one of the first(er last before hte 72pins) 64 mb systems and used up to 2 mb simms. that means i need like 12 32 pin simms. 8\

Edit: guess you didnt mean 33mhz you said pentium. How did you get 3mb on pentium?????

Why did they have to sue intel. I loved the xx86 days. *sniffles*

Yea, 3 megs of ram is kind of odd for a pent 133. My like 4th pc, so I go pretty far back, was a 486sx25 with 2 megs of ram that I later put a overdrive chip in it taking it up to a 486dx50 and another 4 megs of ram. I thnk my p133 I had for quite a while I had atleast 32 megs in it.

Never liked apples, but I did have tandy, atari, and amiga.

Texas Instruments TI-99. Tape loader and everything.

Then got the first generation Amiga. Upgraded that to the Amiga 2000 with an internal hard drive. Then we had 486's. First computer with a modem installed on it was the old P133 with the blazingly fast 28k modem. Played XvT with that forever. Got an upgrade to a P2 350. Then I moved out east and built my first PC, P3 733. Now have built more than 20 for friends and family.

Rbstr
2003-12-07, 11:11 PM
You can't have a dual P4/Celleron (cel is the same chip just with less cashe and 400mz FSB) You can do a dual or Quad 3.2ghz Xeon though. The arcitecture(sp) of a dual and a single are different, thats why you have to use a Athlon MP for a dual athalon (or mod the regular chip). And you have to buy a Xeon DP/MP for the dual/quad usage.

Daleon

Asus board sPwn all, they have the best 875 on the market and the best 865pe (they also have the new ATI chipset boards with integrated graphics that preform better than FX5200's), and xeons aren't crap, there better thant P4's alot of time THe p4EE is a xeon repinned, and it beats the 64 FX-51 in more than half the benches.

You can have a dual P3/P3Celleron but not the p4 based chips

Yeah it's a good board the only difference is it's missing the Via raid controler (i think)
