I think a cycling night and day in planetside would be awesome. Not pitch black (there's two moons!) but dark like a real night. Also the world is round and guessing that it's spinning there would be night on some continents but day on others. This could easily be shown on the map just like weather. Everyone could have head-lights on their armor and turn them on when they need to. There could also be the option of carrying a hand held spotlight in an extra holster if you have agile armor or above. Battles at night would be awesome! Post your thoughts on this idea.

Night could actually make things kind of interesting. Most of the vehicles already have headlights. Hmm....

Night and day would be good. As would weather that would affect operations. Fog to hide in or winds to make low level flight a little more .. intresting.

I think about the best thing they could do with CC is make it free and credit everyone that purchased it with 3 months of free game play. Thats if they could admit to the disappointment. I'd like to see he percentage of active players that actually have it. I bet its less than 50%.

I wish 10,000 years in the future they still had night vision.

But seriously, I think it would be too difficult to fight at night to be really fun to do so.

well you could have a night vison implant or Special night armor, in black with built in Light amp

Night battles offer so many opportunities. I mean, we have headlights on our vehicles, they don't do jack shit currently. Maybe put in a few eclipses every now and then to make it pitch black? SORE needs to give some flexibility here.

Towers and facilities would be cool at night. They could put searchlights on top that characters would be able to control, kinda like wall turrets, and other lights all over, like a real milatary base, and then a power outage at a base might mean something. ANTs might actually be important if enemies were sneaking up on a base at night and the power was out and it was pitch black. It would be important for the defending team to have light.

Spotlights would be an amazing addition to bases. That is to say we have night added to the games.

Spotlights could move automatically. When they see something they lock onto it. The wall turrets aim where the light is pointed and begin to fire.

Sounds good to me.

I second that notion. Should have been free to begin with to add value to the monthly fee. Keep it interesting and people will keep their accounts longer. I think they would make more money in the long run that way as well...

SOE monthly fee games come with active support and improvement patches and expansions... now that would seel newspapers! :)

They do. Everyone has implants that make night at clear as day. That's why you can't tell when it's night time.

YOU FOOLS WHY DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING!!!

Night and Night vision have been talked about by the devs before, it's a whole new can of worms they would have to open in order to make it happen.. so don't count on seeing it anytime soon.

An impenetrable blastwall deployable that can be used indoors, that lasts for say, a minute.

In a base that is being zerged, can you just see how awesome it would be to put up blastwalls at all entrances, allow each side to ready thier forces, and then when the wall goes down, they tear each other asunder. Art in motion.

Hey everyone try to picture how much fun a battle in the dark would be. Plasma gernade explosions would light up the area in bright green. Exploding planes in the sky would be like fireworks. Bright bullet trails all over. Vehicles with headlights(that actually turn on)The possibilities are endless

yes and think about the lag problems or the new glitches that come out let them try and get ALL current porblems fixed in PS befor adding NEW ones...................but yes night fights would rule but not at the current time

I agree. As of now there are still a lot of glitches(look at the potd archhive!) but maybe instead of doing stuff like core combat they could fix some glitches and then maybe start prototyping night and day.

Yeah, but I've experienced all of that in WW2OL, and I really don't think it's fun to play in. Fun to watch, absolutely, but you can't tell what the hell is going on. I don't know, maybe for night-fighting bases could become very dark when the generator is destroyed, similar to the movie Aliens when the xenomorphs cut the power ("How could they cut the power? They're animals!") and go from there.

I'm going to keep an open mind about it, but I'm skeptical that outdoor night fighting could be made enjoyable, rather than a clusterfuck.

Of course it would rock. Seeing headlights off in the distance... Flare pistols... And of course infiltrators would love it. It would rule.

It wouldn't be all that dark. There are two moons and almost any road would have little lights lining it or street lights. In real miletary bases there are always a ton of lights and there could be spot lights on top of towers that people could control. It wouldn't be mass chaos but it would offer some fun and a challenge and a new twist to the game.

The weather now is really cool but mabey if it did some more to affect the game it would be cool.

you know what i'd like to see?

-less pits that you can't drive out of.
-more realistic ballistics. like, for examle, AP ammo is more likely to kill thatn regular FMJ. because where FMJ will get lodged in your harder bits, AP will go right through. it could quite literally sever your spine. also, why does it take two headshots to kill someone with the Bolt driver? isn't it supposed to be hypersonic or something? either way, it's still a .50 cal. you ever get shot in the face with a .50 cal? of course you haven't because your head would be gone. i don't mind getting sniped, as long as it's a clean fecking kill. also, tank shells don't fly in such a drastic arc, not unless they're mega-sub-sonic. remember, Force = Mass x Accelleration.
-more realistic handleing on vehicles. for example, an enforcer will not be able to take a 70 degree angle. however, in real life, there are military vehicles (like the HMMWV, i.e. HUMMVE) that can take 89 degree angles no sweat, and will lose traction long before they flip over.
-fix the jackhammer. shotguns are close quarters weapons. ask any cop. they are no good out in the open, just indoors, and when your enimy is only a few feet away. it's simple fact.
-make the NC weapons more accurate, and give the Enforcer's "missiles" heat tracking so they can actually be called "missles."

also, it would be a good idea not to listen to retards that say things like "NERF THE VANU CUZ THEY CHEAP!!!!!1111!2LOLWTFSTFUROFLOLOLOLOL" but that's probably a given.

that's about all i can think of.

that wall idea is pretty good, ecept they sould be destroyable, along with doors. think about it, building light fortifications to act as command posts when taking a base. where the commander of the attacke can sit and direct the forces accordingly.

I see i'm the only one that sees night time as a bad idea in the poll...

Why have great graphics to hide them in the dark, or behind nightvision?

night opps would be lovely. you're team could sneak in under the cover of darkness ar blow an enimu facility's gennerator to cause havok on the front. screw graphics, i can't see jack anyway.

Of course it would rock. Seeing headlights off in the distance... Flare pistols... And of course infiltrators would love it. It would rule.

Being killed by enemies you even know where there (repeatedly), stepping on mines you didn't see on the ground, being pegged by snipers who aren't using any lighting equipment to give away their position, but instead are aiming for your lights... I'm in full concurrance that night fights would look good, I just want to point out that WW2OL had a really dark night, really pretty tracers and such, and typically it wasn't a whole lot of fun to actually fight at night, though it was fun to watch.

If there were to be night and day in ps what would be good time lengths?
I think 2 of night and 4 of day is good. and then it would just repeat

It already does cycle night and day. You just don't notice it. Night tends to be dark purple, and you can't see very far.

We're talkin about an actually noticibe night
