Server Merger is Awesome

I just played 2 hours of solid fun and let me tell you Lodestar changes the whole game. Pulling up next to one of those badboys heals/rearms you like lightning letting the good times roll on and on.

I only had trouble with a couple minor bugs, but I expect they released the patch now to squash all the bugs before the holidays, and it looks like they are well on schedule.

I was on for a couple of hours and very good to see some Johari-ers and some new TR/VS. The lodestar is great and so are the recerts great job dev team!

If you are the primary then you probably should..otherwise you may log on and not be able to play.

Oh I know I wont be able to play. My roomie is seriously addicted to this game. A couple of weeks ago he played for 16 hours, went to work, played another 16 hours, went to work and then passed out on the couch. When he woke up 10 hours later he started playing again. I've seen him kick his girlfriend out so he could play without her pestering him to hang out with her too.

I got the patch update, it said everything was running great. I clicked play, and here is what it says:

FATAL ERROR: Virtual Alloc Failed

I can't start the game. I tried restarting the computer, it still doesn't work.

That is a known issue for Win98/ME users. If you don't have either of those versions of windows, you should definitely go to the official forums on www.planetside.com and file a bug report. If you are using 98 or ME then they are working on it already, and will have a hotfix "soon."

There was an annocement in game that servers would be coming down soon for some kind of a patch. So they might be fixing it tonight.

You guys realize that the more people involved in a battle, the longer it takes for it to finish, right? Zergs take hours to beat each other down, which is why getting CEP is tough nowadays.

* Fixed the memory allocation problem at game startup with Windows 98/ME.
* Cargo vehicles will no longer be able to fire their weapons while in the Lodestar.
* Lodestar pilots will not be able to fly them under the world.
* Players with Harasser or Mosquito a la carte certifications will be able to enter their vehicles.
* Transparency will show properly on rocket type muzzle flashes.
* Lodestar will be created with empire permissions instead of owner only permissions.
* The time between switching Empires has been reduced to 12 hours.

This is the newest fix list think.

These people were produced in the merger. I never noticed this level of stupidity on Emerald or Konried beforehand. Afterwards it seems like everybodies intelligence dropped drastically. The Konried people are blaming emerald and the emerald people are blaming konried.

I'm enjoying the merger so much. I've even seen escorts for LLU carriers. There's never been that much teamwork with the VS in god knows how long. Unfortunately, it's kind of off-set by all the immature retards who I'm assuming are coming out of Konried (or the woodworks) and just being annoying. Example. A few guys were chatting on Broadcast in French, and everyone just razzed them. How were these guys supposed to read the messages they were sending each other? And still not enough vehicles out in the field...

Anyways w00t the hotfix has resolved my crash problems and after logging in for a couple hours, I am loving it. So many more people around, you can just loiter at warpgates and enemies will show up before long. Absolutely wonderful for a reaver hunter like me :)

i dont like the merger jus this morning i was playing NC on the Markov - Johari server and we were kicking arse so hard it was boring. the new cert packs are good but i had no problems with the old servers

The LodeStar is an excellent advantage for forces that have one deployed.
It eliminates the need for an Air Tower which greatly decreases the time it takes to rearm, repair, and sometimes regroup.

Things have started to slow down more and I have a relatively new computer. It took me 5 mins to figure out that they had wiped my certs and I had to spend them again. I had one person agree with me that the devs have gone mad.

Ive noticed the continents take longer to load but its worth it for the new cert packages and server merger. Hopefully the devs can fix it

Yeah give them 3 months and the loading might be solved. I was happy with the game before this, but now everything seems to be merging at the moment. I hear now that IGN and GameSpy are merging. What has this world come to?

It was a great excuse for me to pick up my NC character on Emerald. Now whenever you hear me advocate love for TR, which I vehemently support, it'll be coming from an NC.

Playing NC after so much TR play has really given me new respect for how rough TR has it. They have absolutely nothing like the Phoenix, their MAXs suck, their tank sucks and their Heavy Assault is barely passable. But HEY go ahead, keep TR weak. It's just more kills for me. Let's just hope too many TR don't wise up about how screwed they've been.
