View Full Version : Tech Plant > Dropship ?
Just curious as to what you guys think is more important as a strategic asset. In other words, if you were invading a continent and you could go West to capture a Tech Plant in 3 hacks, or East to capture a Dropship Center in 3 hacks which would you make the priority? Don't bother looking at a map cause there is no continent with that exact scenario on it, I am just trying to get a feel for the value people place on these facilities.

Yes, but you need a Dropship Center to get a Lodestar. The devs seem to think repair/rearm pads are the single most important asset in the game, and so even while adding a new mobile rearm station, they have kept the same continental limitations on them by requiring the Dropship Center to acquire them. And yes, I realize people can fly Lodestars in from Sanctuary but that only seems to happen when a raid is forming, and hardly ever once the campaign is underway.

Massed armor is dangerous. Pickup squads with Galaxies are less dangerous.

Tech Plant hands down. My outfit will do something like fly in a lobster from the sanc, then that pilot will gun in a mag.

if your team has good reaver and tank suport you do better, a DS center down't help much unless you have stuff to repair /rearm

Personally methinks a Dropship Center is more important. I don't need a big heavy tank when all my little smaller ones can be repaired like that.

Most people repair their tanks in the field anyway.

What good are the repair silo's when all you have is low-tech vehicles? ;)

Tech Plant. If you can't have ADV Vehicles. Everything else is worthless.

most deffinetly tech plant. the empire who has control of all the tech plants has the distinct advantage of heavy armor and heavy air support while not having to worry about the low tech conter parts. what would you fear more 5 lightnings or 5 vanguards?

It should be obvious. I doubt many people, including myself, realized what a huge disparity existed between Tech Plants and DS Centers. The devs added the Lodestar to supplement the Dropship Centers, so perhaps it's time to come up with a way to provide tech benefits to bases without tech links. I really think the Vehicle Module should do this, but who knows if it will happen. It would suddenly make modules rock, instead of being quaint novelties that get dropped in the drink more often than not.

Am i starting fresh on the cont? If i ave a tech plant, then yes dropship center definitely, if i dont have one getting one is first priority.
