I'm at a friend's house, and we installed NFS: U here and when I try to start it up, the screen goes black, as if it was changing resolution, and then it crashes to desktop.

hmm, yea I would have tried the drivers.. perhaps try a diff monitor? Its a bit of a strech but worth a shot. Otherwise I'd contact support for the game.

Had this happen with KOTOR. Ended up being the video card drivers. Got the latest nVidia drivers and sitting pretty since.
