View Full Version : Medic Idea feasible?

I personally think that playing a medic is boring(so i droped the certs) Here is one of my ideas for making them more usefull and fun. They should be given a type of ACE that they can deploy and it will pop up a little pole or box that will heal all friendlies within a 10M radius.

What do you all think of this? and do you think it would affect the game negativly?

I suggested soemething similar. I thought of allowing something exactly like your idea, but something in the back of my mind said "bad idea" I can't remeber why exatly at the moment, I'm too tired. I agree that some kind of static repair device is needed, since the medical terminals are in the stupidest places ever, and only really benefit the enemy. One depoyed on the ramparts of a facility would be far more benefical.

Great idea!

I also think that if you are rez'd by a medic, you shouldn't be penalized with a loss of stamina and a loss of implants. This would make people want to be rez'd.

but then couldnt u just set that up and defend from that zone and be nearly invincible?

Having a medic crouched over a dead guy in the middle of most hallway/tower fights isn't in any risk of invincibility. More like two dead for the price of one.

Anything, and I do mean anything, that can help medics is required... stat.

Reminds me of last night, I was rezzing a Quasar MAX, when a ScatMAX walks right by me, guns blazing at my friends. After I die, after rezzing 4 or 5 people, I /tell'd him, and asked why he didnt take the easy kill. He replied with something along the lines of "Shooting a medic while he's healing someone is just low. When they draw thier weapon and start firing, thats when you can kill them."


Point: Run around with MedApp out. Hopefully, Honorable players wont nuke you.

Yes, well thank god not everyone is a scumbag like you then, eh? j/k man. The lil re-health beacon should only repair at a slow rate, like the adv. regen. implant, so peaople can still die, it just gives em a chance. say, one point of health per second?

Maybe the Medico ACE only heals a finite amount of points of health before another one must be layed.

Yeah, I think that if there was such an ACE type medical device it should either only heal a finite amout of points total or only last a finite time, for example it deconstructs after 30 seconds or something. Otherwise, depending on the implementaion, it could be possible to setup like 5 of these things in a hall way with a bunch of HA grunts and have them be pretty much indestructible. Those are just my thoughts anyway.

Or they should also be only allowed to be placed so close to another med ACE (like spitfires or motion sensors). You could also make it so the effects of the med ACE do not stack so you could place more then one close to each other, so if the enemy blows up one, you still have another one working for you.

I go for advanc meds first. People don't seem to understand how valuable a squad of people with advanc med can be.

i go for adv med when first it's dire, ie. a small team is in my cc (the max & med & engy).

in a large field battle, though, i leave them alone.

Another cool thing would be to give medics a poison ability ala TFC. Would be a good enhancement to infil play.

I think that would be kool, just give the motion censor a new skin to make it white with the red cross sign on it , make it twice as slow to heal so people cant play "god" all the time.Plus make it where u can only make 1 in the same range as the AMS
