Anyone know if the targeting on there is bugged or is acting different from what it used to be? I usually jump in a sparrow max when there are one too many reavers causing trouble. But lately I cant seem to keep a lock or even get a lock when the reaver is too close. Or i get a lock.. turns red... fire a few shots... and it turns back to green again. So then i wait till its red again and keep firing.
This happening to anyone else?

yeah, it is a bit buggy, but the missile lock message still pisses them off I bet!

Yeah, i was getting a lot of the no locking on at all, it just instantly turned red and refused to lock. Thats when i dropped it for scat max lol.

The lock-on range is too short methinks. I'd like to see a lock-on-time that was directly related to range - the farther out the aircraft, the longer it takes to get a lock.

This is a good idea, and yes the lock on range was nerfed to hell and back. Funny how the starfire can hit a lib at max ceiling height but the sparrows cant...grrr. The sparrow used to be the best AA in the game, now it is the worst IMO. Not only that, but the bugs really dont help it either. Even when im like 10 ft away from an aircraft it refuses to lock on.

Don't play NC but, I know of a bug with the striker where if you and your target are separated by a door (even if the door is open) you simply will not get a lock no matter the range. I usually have to dumbfire my striker shots at maxes "separated" from me by an open door. I have had some issues locking in the open field as well.

All I know is that when I get a lock on, and fire a missle, it doesn't matter if I loose sight of my target, that missle will follow what it fired at till it hits. That's why the Sparrow is called the 3 Mile MAX

That's not true, unless your Starfire is standing on the rim around Searhus crater or up on top of Mount Ceryshen and the flight ceiling is very close. On like 99% of the bases on Auraxis, flight ceiling is way out of lock-on range.

I was testing the Starfire max in the VR the other day, and it locked on withough even being over the reaver, all it had to be was like 20m away and it would still lock

No, if a starfire is standing on the roof of a base it can hit the lib at max ceiling height. I know because i had a lib and i got so pissed off fighting the VS that i dropped it. It takes 2 clips and they usually have enough time if they lock soon enough to reload and get off a few shots of the second clip, sometimes even killing the lib.
