I don't know what to think anymore about consoles. I mean, I hate them with a passion, and would gladly take a PC over one, anyday. But besides Planetside, what other big titles are coming out for the PC? Every frelling game that I've been really interested in, is a PS2, or GC exclusive. PISSES ME OFF. I need titles. Planetside is great and all, but I need more than just one game to play at a time.
I'm seeing fewer and fewer titles being released for the PC, evey year, and it scares me. And now, with the fact that you can plug in a mouse and keyboard to alot of the consoles out there, more and more people are going to convert. Some people say thats Bullshit, the PC will never die, but about 8 of my LAN friends have already baught a PS2, an X-Box, and one is getting a Game Cube. They have more console parties than we do lanners anymore.
I fear, that the 3rd generation of consoles is going to finish off the PC(for gaming anyway). Add on mouse and keyboard, USB ports for Joystick, WinXP(halfassed), Web Browsing capability. And thats what we have now, in 2nd Generation. 3rd is going to support 1024x768 on an HDTV.
Don't get me wrong. I love the PC, and think it is far more capable a machine than any peice of shit console, I'm just sharing what I'm noticing.
