shouldnt br have abilities givin to u with the brs u get like u do with cr?
i would like to see new things u could do when u gain br other than be a higher br than the guy next to u and just get 1 more CC.i know this has brought up before but i havent seen many people talk about it lately, so i just wanted to bring it back up :rolleyes: so wut do u guys think?

They come in the form of this dandy little RPG element called "Cert points," you spend them at this terminally thing, and you can get new guns! Vehicles! The ability torevive dead folks!

Alright. To create a non-troll post, adding BR ranks would add too much RPG to the FPS game. As it's been mentioned, the allure of an FPS is to be on an equal playing field with you fellow plays, be they competitors, or friends. Now, PlanetSide has managed to strike a unique balance between adding customization to a character, and one's ability to fight. Yes, chances are that the guy in rexo with an MCG will pwn you like a dirty little n00b should you be running about in your pajamas, but, with an assload of skill, a lot of luck, and clever use of surge, you have at least a good chance of damaging that person, so someone else more equipped to handle that sort of threat can take him out easier.


With the inclusion of BR abilities, it adds more to the "I play more, therefore, Me > You" ideology, which, no one around these forums at least, wants to see - trust me, I've tried my hand at seeing if people would like more RPG in thier FPS, and most people dont. Implants are, already, as mentioned, in effect as new abilities - The ability to heal yourself, the ability to run faster, to observe the health of an enemy, to see cloaked enemies when they are standing still, to see enemies on radar easier - All of these come with playing. Any more added to a BR level up would make the game unbalanced.


However, just my two cents.

ok yes , i understand where u are coming from but , i know that implants are there , but im talkin about mabye new abilities also when u get a new slot for implants?I did not mean to say a new ability for every BR, just some things that would NOT use up stamina like implants do , and maybe they would offer new things than implants cant do , like maybe self EMP charges that would not effect urself? run into a base as infill , bunch of tanks sittin there , blow the charge , they cant shoot u for a sec till u get inside? just an idea of an ability

Your armor changes color and you get cert points. I don't really see any need for something else. However once you get to 20 there needs to be other things to work on IMO. Hopfully we will be seeing those come the new year :)
