I dont know about u guys , but all of the lag fixes and everything to help that hasnt been helpin me at all.I know some of guys r thinkin , GET A BETTER COMP DUMBASS!!!
but infact i have an awsome comp that my dad hooked up with the beest stuff.Over 2000$ worth of enhancement crap in it that ill never understand. But anyways i know its their servers becuz on ALL of my other games it does not lag like PS. In some places , there will be almost no1 around , but it will get really laggy and if i turn and look behind me , its smooth, i look back at my destination and its starts laggin again :(
i know its not becuz their is alot of action or people over their becuz 1.no hotspots on map,2.all the action is behind me and im just goin to distract them by takin a nearby tower. If u guys havin any idea plz tell me .

If you dont understand, then dont say you have an awesome comp. I can spend 4000$ on a falcon northwest custom paintjob for my case. Money != good.
And I assume all your other games are single-player? I can run Max Payne 2 at full settings at 60 FPS, however, I get 10-60 in PS. Why? Because there is so much going on, and the fact that the engine draws everything that you cant see. Keep in mind that, in addition to rendering all of the data, your computer also has to send out packets to the server, which are then distributed to other players. Same thing happens with other players and you. Every step or action a player does, is sent from thier compute,r registered on the server, distributed to everyone around you, who has to download that packet, open it, and render the information contained within, all within a fraction of a second.
That said, you will not get good frames, unless you have over a 2.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM, and a 9600 +. Period. There is far too much information for anything else to render efficiently.

Yeah, most PC's you are gonna see are gonna have a max of 2-4 gb of RAM. Some high end servers and supercomputers may be able to handle 50.

Yeah, get your specs from your dad if he hooked it up. Don't ask for answers that we can't give you without specs.
Spee, go a lil easier man. I can see where ur coming from but lighten up. :)

I have a good comp, 2.4ghz 1.5gb pc2700 Radeon9800 and the game started great and is now a laggy mess. It takes about a full second to run through a door now when before that was only a problem when I played on my laptop, 512mb ddr 1.8ghz 64mb gForce 4. Lagging is more common, lasts longer, continent loads are longer. What gives?

Ah ha! specs! good man, but your not the original guy, oh well. Your memory is kinda slow, if you put on new drivers try going to an older version. Continent loads have gotten longer for everyone.

My specs are in my sig and PS hasn't really changed lagwise for me at all. I'm kind of suprised considering everyone and their damn grandmother is bitching. I actually get pretty good FPS overall...

Post your system specs in the official boards on the tech support forum. Help you they can!

Tech forum is great for such a topic...
Anyways, I don't think there is a single platform that woudl support 50 gigs of system memory. I don't even think there is anything that will handle 50 megs. You would see that king of power unless you were running a grid. Grid computing is where you have multiple pc's all conected together working on a single operation simultaneously, thus acting as one powerful computer.

Wow,
all i know is that its got like 112 GB of something in it
I got some of that too, next to my 512MB of whatever. Listen kid, if you seriously want help, then find a way of letting us know what your comp specs are.
This might be a good start:
Start > Run > dxdiag

Rather than come up with a sarcy comment, I think I'll say something useful for a change. It is Christmas after all.
click the button on the bottom left of the desktop that says START
Click on the bit that says "Run....."
In the thing that says Open:, type "dxdiag" then press the enter key on the keyboard.
The first page that comes up will give you the basics you need to know about your PC.

Think he's got it now.
As to the comps and such...
I run a 2.2 ghz
1gig pc2700 RAM
Geforce FX5900
With a sliced down to the ninth degree version of XP pro
Before the Loadstar patch I got around 20fps in a huge battle! It was fun shooting at the majority of people who were standing still.
After the Loadstar patch sometimes (and the real bitch is not always) But if I look at a base that has more then 30 people in it (even if that base is behind a hill) my SPF drops to around 4... and stays there. It's really made PS unplayable for me in alot of ways.
I figure after the hollidays I'll buy 2 SATA drives and rebuild from the OS up, hope that helps!
Also a fun trick is to go get Norton Ghost and make an image of your disk, then just restore it. Best defrag in the world, right there!
