View Full Version : 300+ kills a day?

I was looking at someof the elite players (most kills) on some PS site and I realized, they have a rediculous amount of kills every day. I know this could be because they play a whole lot, but still, thats a lot. So im wondering, I know this game is skill based, but how do they do it?
Oh yea, if anyone knows of any Grunt vids, well any vids for that matter, that just show pure killing, could you tell me where to find em?

Some people's stats are absolutely crazed, but a good portion of that is playing time. My VS char's outfit leader on Markov is always near the top of the list in kills (and he consistently has 300-400 kill days) but I also realized that regardless of what time I log on he seems to be around. That isn't to discount his skill, he's certainly better than I am, but time is a major factor.
Some people are also ridiculously good, it's just a fact. Some people also cheat, another sad fact. I'm normally most impressed with seeing a string of kill spam where somebody is using a common pool weapon (almost always the Sweeper) and just ripping off kill after kill. Sometimes you see a string of kills with an Empire specific weapon and you think that somebody just happened to have the right weapon for the right situation, but using a common pool weapon and besting a number of people is just impressive.

Meh, kill counts just mean you play alot, nothing more.
I play for a couple of hours a night and usually average about 100 kills. I feel that is pretty good but I dunno

Meh, unlike them, I can content myself with the knowledge that I have a life. I play for only about 1:30-2:00 at most every night and average around 75 kills. I'm not godly, but I'm not a total n00b either(contrary to my name).

Yeah theN00b, simple math.
If 2 hours = 75 kills (give or take)
then 4 hours = 150 kills
also 6 hours = 225
and 8 hours = 600
There you go... you are on a similar pace, but you have a life and maybe even dare I say have to work 8 hours a day instead of being glued to the monitor.

Meh, I don't have to work, but I am currently in an advanced school program, which takes up 8 hours of the day. So yes, what you said is true. Though I wouldn't really object to being able to spend 7 hours a day on the comp :) .

But Liquid, you must account for nights when you get lucky and a bunch of guys are just in the right spot at the right time and you get more kills. You also must account for when the planets are not in alignment and the super-rays you normally get from Saturn cannot reach you because the Moon is in the way.

That's an excellent point. There are some nights were everything goes perfectly. You know, when you have a 20:1 KtD ratio or when your ten-man squad single-handedly defeats a filled enemy base. Inversely, there are times when your MAX gets killed by an AMP-wielding infiltrator (points to self :( ).

Life is a magazine that costs 50 cents, But I have 25 cents: Rats.
I hate rats. They locked me in a prison cell and told me to get a life.
Life, whats life? Life is a magazine that costs 50 cents. I have 25 cents: Rats
Etc... :D :D

The big question is how do these people pay a monthly fee with no job?
As others said the leaderboards only reward those who play the game the longest. Plus, kills aren't the only thing to the game.
Kills per hack is where it is at anyway :domotwak:

Meh, the mag itself is a POS. But it makes one damn annoying song (I hav3 a 1ikk13 br0 :( ).
That is mainly from reaver spam and camping spawnrooms with surge, some tank gunning too. Ooh, and they play alot. Alot.

Bah. I'm more proud of my outfit points than my kill count. I was number one in my outfit until Zav passed me by. My New Year's resolution is to play more PS until I get that number one spot back.

Um, guys.....sorry to point this out, but when you say you play a couple hours and get 75 kills, your stats should then show 37.5 KPH, but they show 7.1KPH. Not trying to be rude, just thought I'd point that out.
I sometimes think I've killed hundreds of people in a single hour, but it just seems like that sometimes. Time flies.

Not so, my canine friend!
Well...Maybe. I use standard when I'm being a surgewhore... But yeah. I never break 30 kills in one play session.
Then again, I rarely play for over 2 hours, if ever. Generally I play an hour or so, then log, then come back, another hour, etc...

What happens when you don't attack a base? That's what KPH is, Kills Per Hack. The average of how many people you kill before the SOI your in gets hacked.

It's just the number of kills you've gotten divided by the number of base hacks you've gotten credit for. Easy peasy.

Kill count is meaningless. If someone is getting 400 kills in a play-session, it's highly doubtful that they stopped to heal a single MAX, repair a single terminal or generator, revive a fallen comrade or pilot a troop-transport. Sounds to me like they're failing to develop essential team-building skills that will be vital when the days of Surgile are a laughable memory.

Veteran, no need to whine because you cant do it. I have had 400-kill days a few times, and I repair tons of stuff, and use my advmed whenever I can. So stuf.

I agree 300 kills a day is ridiculous but there are logical but also sad explanations we definately have a cheating section in the PS community call it the PS Gustapo if you will. But these guys may have been playing for ages and have mastered the game, and also having both Eng and med is good cos when attacking just get a good spot a heal both armour and health there you go you can go a kill another 3 or 4 people, or the can be just plain damn lucky gits you know the ones that seem to spring you and you just cant hit enough in time?

These people also have at least a T1 connection.
I've seen my accuracy with the sweeper increase 3000% when I got my new computer. Instead of 15fps, I now get 50-100.
Sadly, my ping still is crap.

The only time I ever got 300 kills was when I played for 14 hours in one of those grueling Cyssor battles.
You know the kind. NC are south of Gunuku, lined up at the bridge, and the VS are at the south, and both are pounding the crap out of each other for hours until either side gains ground.

NVSniper, NC from Markov (Johari orginally). Some good videos of good killing tactics.
The best way to get alot of kills is just be where the action is at all times, stop doing anything support related, never stand around doing nothing and cert as a 1 man army.

^^ This is a good kill anything and everything setup.
Gunning MBTs and spending ALOT of time playing also helps.

Thank you Vick. I personally am certed in advanc med and engineering for the soul purpose of helping out my outfit and the NC as a whole. If I wanted to be an exclusive kill whore I would drop the med and engy for rexo and two of the maxes. Chances are my ability as a support character far exceeds what most people can claim. It is a shame that PS does not give more credit for those that do things like repair a facility, help out the others playing, and resecuring back bases. (All things my outfit and I do nearly exclusively)
I also think that automatically accusing people that get an extraordinate amount of kills per day as, "having no lives" is a very childish thing to do. I personally worked two jobs, had a gf, had time to party and work out, and still I managed to get my CR5 in there along with my 22k kills. Regardless though, if I did nothing more than stared at the computer all day long, who would you be to judge them for it. In my opinion, interacting with people on a video game far surpasses what the majority of Americans do, stare at the idiot box (TV) for hours at a time.
Play friendly and don't hate on someone because their accomplishments don't coincide with yours. Some might wonder.... are you jealous?
