From Planetside to a non MMOG FPS

I havent quit first of all, i just wanted to post about playing non-MMOG games, i realized that i cannot play a game like Desert Combat for as long as i can planetside. This is probably due to that i have something to work for in planetside other than ending a match in non MMOG games. This true for anyone else?

Planetside killed my whole desire to play ANY games anymore... I stopped playing games after Planetside, and that was almost seven months ago. (even though I payed for a year-long subscription...) I don't quite know why either... I loved Planetside, but after I burned out on it, I burned out on all games all together!

MMORPG= EQ and the like
MMOG is used to describe any other game genre other than RPGs from The Sims online-Planetside

I still play non-MMO games, such as Call of Duty and MOH:Breakthrough. I swap between regulalrly, cause although I still do play PS, it doesn't have quite the addicting hold it used to have.

if u have half life and like games like call of duty etc. i recommend u DL uhh whats it called, yea Day of Defeat, its great i love it! but yea MW4 mercs, CS(STILL!!!!), DoD, Tribes2, socom, and monopoly get me through my PSMS's(planetside mood swings) (when i get pissed off cuz the best games in the world starts to get sucky)

DoD is awesome, i love the CS style fighting but with the WWII weapons and models. Though i seem to die alot so i only have to wait 15 seconds to respawn instead of CS time it takes till the end of the round. Though the cheaters make the game suck... since you can go into 3rd person mode and actually SEE the dude cheating his ass off. I hate cheaters.

same here when planetside beta came out like in feb or march i played it! thought it was abit shit and pissed me off soooo much from all the bugs! never seen a game sooo buggy b4 apart from raven shield! then it came out still full of bugs but they got rid of them and planetside kinda became worse :o(! they cant get rid of bugs cus where will the funny screens come from? Anyways planetside is the only game i play well that and raven shield! kinda hoping cc wud boost me from the boredom with the game but i just cant quit cus im bored! they need to make bases bigger and look all different from eachother plus add new empire only guns and vehicals! give it a graphical update change psychics engine and swop cyssor with esamir

Been having a blast with Prince of Persia. On a Radeon 9800XT it is the best looking game to date. It is also a friken blast to play and the whole theme is great. As far as other online FPS, I play Americas Army from time to time and I am sure I will love Tribes Vengance, Half-Life 2, and Doom 3

I saw a new (well knew to me) FRPG in Best Buy the other day. Looked like EQ, AC, DAoC, SB and all the others. It seemed interesting on the box. But I planned on looking it up on the net to find out more about before I chunked out $49 for it. Gah, it started with an 'I' I think. I believe it was named after the realm or planet or something. Has anyone got a clue... or has all these years of huffing cheap model glue finally caught up to me.

Oh, and to make my reply relevant to the thread. I've been playing CoD for a month or so now.. and I love it. If you are a WW2 nut or liked the HBO movies 'Band of Brothers' this would be the game for you. $49 for it, free to play online.

Very rarely can i enjoy a game for long since PlanetSide. When i play other games i think they are good, but not as good as PlanetSide so why play it?

yeah, at some point planetside does make you stop being impressed by other games. you get used to real fights, non of that counting how many enemies are left shit. squad based games kind of lose their atraction when you can go up against 200 people holding/riding such a variety of weapons. also in games like CS or AA:O you learn the map and then it's just a matter of who knows it better. in PS you actually have to think every time you look for cover and use the map to navigate.

I've played AA:O since it came out and I now play it only when I'm in the mood for teamwork or when my clan buddies bug me enough.

Planetside has spoiled me for any other multi-player online game. I'd log on to a BF1942 or UT2003 server, play a bit, but never for long.

Damn PS to hell!!!!

Good thing there's some single-player games I can indulge in while trying to get over my PS burnout.
