Tones of voice depend on the nasal opening, the vocals cord, size of the throat, hormone levels and mouth and tongue size as well as lung capacity.

Now try tightening the muscles in your throat.. you notice what? Usually a Higher pitch in your voice.

Don't forget that timbre is not the only quality to look at in someone's voice to see if they are a "good" singer or not... An untrained voice will have very weak vocal chords, as an example, record yourself trying to hold a single note for five seconds. You may even be able to hear it yourself... Your voice oscillates around the note you are trying to hit, that is called vibrato. You can compare it to trying to hold a really heavy object, if the applicable muscles are not trained, they may be able to lift the object, but they will twich and squirm as you struggle to hold it up.

Now if you look at someone like Josh Groban, a very experienced singer... He is able to hold a single note for a hell of a long time. But just like every other classically trained singer he has learned to control the vibrato of his voice, and uses it as another facet of his singing.

So I would say that the voice is one of the hardest instruments to master... I have at least some respect for anyone that is a trained singer.

Oh, and if you believe that a high pitched voice makes someone "gay" go download "When You Say You Love Me" by Josh Groban... He hits some pretty high notes in that... Then go download something like Sarah Brightman & Josh Groban - There For Me. In that song he is at least five octaves lower... Then think about his popularity... He is a damn good looking guy, he litteraly has throngs of women swooning over his every word. His current girlfriend is absolutely gorgeous.

Well at a young age if your voice was very good when you sang they castrated you to stop the hormones from creating... so a part of you didnt go through puberty. (Your voice and some other parts *cough*).

The voice then totaly stopped changing and you had a man that could sing like a child with no problem at very high pitches.

Well the best example that I know of it is Astral Projection - Axis, from the Sundown CD. Others that I would describe as similar would be Darude - Music and PPK - Resurection.

Pretty much anything from the Astral Projection Sundown or Sunrise CDs are very organic. But they start to get annoying because each song is so varried, every song starts to sound the same :)
