I'd support the idea of an ancient-tech MBT, but I'm not paying another thirty bucks for a piece of crap expansion pack. That bad larry better be a free add-in via download, like the Liberator, Lodestar, and Skyguard.

We already have conventional battle tanks. They're called Vanguards, Prowlers, and Magriders. But yeah, I'm waiting on a heavy assault tank... like the Mammoth tanks from Command and Conquer: Red Alert or Tiberian Sun.

Ooohh... some of the stuff from Tiberian Sun like the GDI Titan (http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20000404/tiberiansun_07.gif). I think there was also a Mammoth MkII, a giant rail-gun carrying thing that looked like an Imperial AT-AT.

I tend to be aagainst this, just because already I think this game is getting too tank specific. The problem with tanks (and planes and all vehicles in this game for that matter) is there is no real cost to them, sure you have to have a tech plant link, but other then that, you walk to the terminal, you click a grand total of three times and boom you have your tank. Easy peasy.

Amen, brother Doppler. While I don't agree with the freaks and lunatics who think we should call PS Tankside, I do think that we should not detract from the power of infantry in the game. If we do have too many tanks, infantry will pretty much be confined to indoors and heavy tree and landscape cover :( .

well, personaly, id love for this game to be tankside, primarily, because i love tanks, and driving tanks, i just wish theyd get rid of that mow stop thing, i mean, a ANT can run over someone and not stop, but a tank does?

Actualy a tank does stop when it rolls someone over, its just a lot faster to get back up to speed.

they arent going to be adding any new tanks/weps/armor for awhile they have a lot of game play enhancements that they are going through now and tehy said there would be no new weps/vehicls/armor till theya re done

well if they arent releasing any thing soon then the grunts and support crews have nothing, to complain about. But if they ever do add something it should be a new armour type, maybe like uhhhhhh Common Pool max.

CP MAX would be awsome, :rofl: i would LOVE to see a new damn sniper , im tired of the same thing , maybe empire specific snipers?NC have 1 similar to the bolt driver , but hits harder and slower reload,TR have a semi-auto clip based sniper sence they are based on speed, but the bullets dont do as much damage , VS, would have some sorta energy specific sniper, not sure really wut type of weapon base the VS is, i know NC is power TR is speed no clue on wut VS is :(

VS are manuverability and versatility (SP) so we should have a sniper that does decent damage to light vehicles and infantry. Still think we need a CP max though, maybe a Uber max which is all maxs combined for like 15 cert points.

That is all a bunch of bull but would be so kool. A max with 1 pounders on each hand. A rocket rack with decimantors on its back, and uhhhhhh lancers under the pounder

A sniper that does damage to light vehicles...

The only sniper rifles that do this are .50 caliber sniper rifles and anti-materiel sniper "rifles", which are more like a converted 20-mm cannons with a huge brake, an enormous padded buttstock, and a bipod that digs into the ground so you don't get tossed ten feet backward.

Now, if you were to implement this in the game, it would be a one-shot kill weapon versus infantry (unless you follow the line of thinking that two Decimators kill a MAX but nothing else including infantry in under five shots). If you implemented a sniper weapon that did damage to light vehicles, you would have to also give it one-shot-kill damage versus troops, because it's entirely unfeasible and impractical that a weapon on-par with a Light-Fifty can punch through an engine block or do reasonable, moderate damage to a Harasser, but not kill an infantryman with one shot.

AT? No thanks, i hate all the AT additions. I want more "made by the factions" kinda weapons, not something made by the freaky technology that the VS made their weapons from.

well, since VS is manuverability, maybe its ALOT more accurate, maybe u can be standing and get the same CoF if u were crouching

Damage: 50 per shot AI, 25 per shot AV
Clip: One click fires three shots, packs carry 15 shots, weapon carries 9 shots. Packs are standard ammo size.
Reload Time: 3 1/2 seconds

'Prototype 3'

Empire: Vanu Sovereignty
Range: 900m
Zoom: x12
Damage: 60 initially, 50 more over 5 seconds AI. Half AV
Clip: 2 Shots per clip, packs carry 8 shots, weapon carries 8 shots. Packs are standard ammo size.

just because the NC's theme is "power" doesn't mean they need a sniper rifle that does ub3r damage. the bolt driver is plenty strong per shot, do we need one that does more? how about a rifle that can shoot through infantry to hit the next ones after that? how about explosive-tipped bullets for area damage? the nc already have one troop weapon capable of killing a rexo in less than a second, do they need a second?

It pretty much is to the point that infantry is already confined to towers and bases anyway. I'm sure all the tank lovers, pilots, and others love the fact that you can go around blowing shit up, but infantry is a huge part of the game that deserves more than just indoor combat and being nothing more than roadkill outside.
