how about a new one? but heres the catch 1 comes with CE, and another with Adv.Medic, you see as hackers have the infilttation suit. they run lets say 10% faster then a normal max, they use that empires MA weapon for defense and now, CE max can repair but cant set boomers or the such, and Adv.Medic revive and heal freindlies like normal Medics and CE, i though they should get maybe a buff, but bring on the flames, suggestions, or what ever u can think of.

ok here it is again

Adv.Medic Max- armed with Cycler/Pulsay/Gauss has same armour as other maxes execpt it can heal and revive freidlies

CE Max- Same as above but can repair armour and vehicles

get it now?

Too powerful. Would make engineering/medic cert worthless. And hackers don't have the infiltration suit, anyone can use it.

What Rayder said. MAX units are supposed to be supported by infantry who ARE medics and engineers. Not the other way around.

Let's look at this little scenario...

Three Pounders, locked down, with two Dual Cyclers for extra support. Say they're in a tower/CC.

Now, stick two engy MAXes and a Medic MAX.

Tell me what could beat that. Anything? A squad of Vanguards would have trouble with that, let alone infantry.

There are too many MAXes as it is, we don't need more. MAXes support infantry, MAXes aren't (supposed to be) the dominant fighting force, and they're not supposed to provide medic/engineer support.

I'm a Combat Engineer myself and I hate this idea.

That's 1 squad of guys. If you get a Platoon, you can essentially lock down three bases.

30 men locking down three bases. If only 100 people were on your empire, you could lock down an entire continent with that combo. The only reason it's not unbeatable now is because engineers and medics get killed easily.

You can't justify this idea, you can't make it look balanced, plausible, or even sane.

people dont really use pounders anymore buddy, after the great balance patch the popularity fell to the :crapper:

Not nearly as much as they were used before. Many people have dropped Pounder in order to pick up the sweet, sweet DC, or have gone all the way and grabbed Uni-MAX.

Pounder used to be the highest certed AI MAX in the game, now it's the least certed. I certed it again and the reload time on that thing is absolutely too brutal to justify. You need at least 3 Pounders to hold a stairwell any more, and good luck finding 3 coordinated Pounders. Those things are just deci fodder now.

Aside from the obvious attrition (they gotta run outta ammo sometime :p) a team using Decis, a team using thumpers, 8 Maxes of the oppsing team, any number of things actually. Keep in mind that's eight MAXs you're talking about. Hell how much of a pain do you think 3 Pounders, 2 DCs, two engys and an advanced medic would be to take out as it is? If they are working together well, really damn hard. Your point is moot.

That said, I still think it's a bad idea. Not because it would be unbalancing, but because it's not needed. I think the question that people often forget ask themselves before they just throw out an idea is: What does this add to the game?

Perhaps not a max suit but a new suit all together. It could combine the basic medical/engineer abilities. It would be heavy on the cert points & of course you could still purchase the two abilities separately.

Pounders still rip ass. Differnet empires's max's excel in different situations.

TR: Defence
NC: Both, most multipurpose max.
VS: Offence

thats the biggest load of :crapper: I've ever heard. :P I love my pounder for holding down towers.
